Here is what we know so far. There will be a new elementary called grant ragan wnd it will open in the fall. It will help with the district growing by 675 students in just this past year alone. They have witness growth like this before. This will be the 7th time they have gone through a boundary process to assign students to new schools. Last year they formed a Boundary Committee to sort out the the new schools. Like which students from what neighborhood would be going and why middle school will they go to. It has been a process. They have met several times with a consultant to develop a recomendation to the school board. Which they present last month. They will meet with the school board again tonight at 6 and here is what they expect to happen. We had quite a bit of public feedback. A couple of public forums. An opportunity for parents to come in and address the issue with a committee. The board has asked for a few modifications to the recommendation and a consultant has helped with those. They will pass boundaries on monday night. Superintendent wilkerson said that either they will approve the vote or superintendent wilkerson said that either they will approve the vote or the board will take action.
