The metro should drop below 32 degrees by friday morning. Friday morning. Tae kwan do is a great exercise for the body. But, martial arts also provide lessons that help students outside of class. I show you how one program tackles a problem thats been getting a lot of attention. On you own count. Its an action packed class. At farrells us martial arts. I come here to practice my forms, weapons, self defense, sparring, hand and kicking techniques. And matthew puhl has much to learn. Ive learned theres really a lot more than i thought there was. Perhaps the most important lesson for this black belt. The changes are amazing to be very honest, besides their abilities physically is one you cant see. Its not what they do, its the attitude they have. The yes sir, the yes maams, please thank you. Its the respect they show to adults and the other kids as well. We talk a little about the tenants of tae kwon do, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and then we also talk about being an upstander instead of a bystander. Instructor Brandon Miller says they spend time on character development. Hosting mat chats during lessons. Talking about topics like bullying. When it comes to bullying, its going to be part of their Mental Health thats at risk, and so we want to make sure we let somebody know so they can take care of the situation. Miller says the Program Teaches students to tell a teacher or someone in authority if they spot bullying. And, work to prevent it. We always try and tell them to be as kind as possible so they choice than to be kind back or just to leave you alone. Keep that focus straight ahead. Its a lesson puhl has learned. Ive learned never to try to get into a fight. Ive learned how to escape from grabs, so thats definitely helpful. And, big grab. As he works on defensive art skills. He hopes he never needs outside of class. Very good. Ready go. Stick around, a big Crop Production report is out. And it changed a lot of the predictions of the iowa crop. Iowans produced more on less ground. David geiger has that next on geiger. A big crop report today shows iowa can do more. With less. The usdas statistic service. Bumped up iowa corn yields by six. To a hundred 89 bushels per acre. Thats 11 more than last year. So even though we planted a hundred expected to produce nearly two point five billion bushels. Thats almost a hundred 30 million more bushels than last year. Soybeans are expected to produce ten percent more than last year. The usda bumped its yields by three to 56 bushels per acre. Making it five more than last year. So iowa farmers are expected to produce 50 million more bushels of beans than last year. With the addition of 50 thousand acres. The november 1st report margin of error averages 100 million bushels for corn. And 40 million bushels for soybeans. The Production Report on a National Level was more negative than the trade anticipated and many grain contracts are down double digits. Well, i think when you look at the report overall, it was a supply bearish report on corn, beans and wheat. And a demand bearish report on corn and wheat. The yields were bigger on corn and soybeans, they were larger than. The trade had anticipated. But the government also took an axe to the demand taking exports and ethanol usage down, and at the same time ending stocks on soybeans jumped to 465 million, thats certainly a large figure. 40 million over the last. The corn ending stocks jumped to 1716 million almost 200 million more than the last report. So, its a market that pushed us to the down side here. Negative news, negative reaction. The Cattle Markets, we really are having a price adjustment. Slower exports, larger imports, were seeing some fund selling, some technical selling hitting the Cattle Market the hog market, is at the seasonal time frame where we do usually see the weights increase, which is beginning to happen, we also see the overall supply continues to be large. We have to move down to a price level where we can clear the pork at the retail level along with the beef. Earlier in may. The usda announced a hundred Million Dollar partnership with 21 states through the Biofuel Infrastructure Partnership to double the number of fuel pumps that have renewable fuels. Iowa is going to get 5 million of that and the Farm Service Agency is in talks with the department of transportation who applied for the grant money. The goal is to put in around a hundred and 85 pumps and 25 tanks around the state. Private partners match the funding in a one to one ratio. This is an opportunity to support the market as prices have softened a little bit. And so, the benefit to iowa because we are the number one biofuels producer is an opportunity to produce and sell more biofuels, an opportunity to get into Second Generation biofuels, you know, weve got new plants opening in iowa that are doing cellulosic ethanol. Whitaker says its a boost for iowa to sell higher blends of ethanol. And thats all i have for the show today. Thanks for joining us. Ill be back again tomorrow we put stories up every day. Check out whotv dot com. Click news then agribusiness. A little more than a week after halloween the citys disneyland has already launched its fullscale holiday extravaganza.
