North carolina environmental regulators say the fine is for a spill back in 2014 at the power plant in eden. The fine may increase because of violations duke energy admitted to in federal court last year last year Million Dollar fines. Company leaders are considering if they should challenge the fine. They say water levels were quickly back to normal after the spill. 3 former South Carolina House Speaker Bobby Harrell will have to pay more than 113 thousand dollars before august. A House Ethics Committee unanimously approved the fine tuesday saying he improperly used campaign donations. His legal team is fighting the fine saying he stopped any potentially unethical payments as soon as a judge told him to. Harrell racked up more than 600thousand dollars in legal fees in another ethics case in 2014. 3 South Carolina law makers are being urged to start spending money on fixing roads before costs get too high.
