We do know the governor is planning to sign a bill t would require men and women to receive equal pay for equal work. He is set to sign it this afternoon here at the statehouse. They will hold off on having the kids come back here for just one more day. The city is calling this a terrible accident, saying what happened here at the Curley Center was a tragedy. The councilors described 7yearold kyzr willis as a star of the summer dropin program. He died last week, his body found in the water after councilors somehow lost sight of him in the afternoon. The city run summer dropin program at ther in stopped for several day, but now the city is getting ready to reopen it with new procedures in place. The new rules include councilors taking a head count every hour. All kids going enter the ocean will wear life preservers. They are increasing staffing levels. Two councilors for every ten children. Christa and police in providence are investigating a murdersuicide involving a retired police officer. Investigators believe the former officer shot and killed his wife in his home on friday. Authorities say he then drove with his wifes body and turned the gun on spotted him on the highway. Police say they became officials after the retired officer called his children saying he had done something bad to their mother. By the way former officer osgood was talking, it seems that we were concerned with the safety to both his wife and himself. A man will be facing a jung today after police say he caused a deadly crash in bedford, New Hampshire, while driving drunk. Investigate, say a passenger was killed when a driver slammed his car into a utility pole and flipped the car on friday. A second passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver has been charged with negligent homicide. Details now in the deadly hot air balloon crash that happened in texas. Some of the victims are now being identified. Alfred skip nichols was piloting that hot air balloon, which was carrying 15 other people before it caught on fire and then crashed over the weekend in texas. Investigators confirming the balloon hit power lines at the time. And detectives have also identified two victims here. Family friends say matt and sunday rowan were on board. Fiveyearold son. The victims brother says the couple was also posting photos during the ride to social media. Its pretty haunting. The photos really sort of continue until just literally a couple minutes before they reported the time of the incident. Massachusetts state police and Newton Police were spotted during a search on Hammond Street near the longwood cricket club. But so far no word on what exactly might have happened. Heres 7s john cuoco at the statehouse. John . John lawmakers passed a bill that establishes the states first regulations for Services Like uber and lyft. Now, the deal would require a twotiered system of background checks for all drivers for the appbased ride service, one conducted by the company, the other by the state. It would alsoos fee per ride. The money would then be split amongst towns, cities, the department of transportation and a fund described to help cab and livery drivers. Ridesharing would also be allowed to pick up drivers at the Convention Center and logan. We do note, the governor is planning to sign a bill that would require men and women to receive equal pay for equal work. He is set to sign it this afternoon here at the statehouse. Massachusetts lawmakers unanimously approved the bill. Supporters say women currently the next legislative session will be in january. Police say the suspect purposely burned down his home on lyndon avenue saturday afternoon. A firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion. The homeowner has been charged with arson. Christa new rules are going into effect to keep kids safe at bostons Summer Program, with parents and staff after last weeks camp tragedy. Victoria theyre going to be explained to the councilors and the parents today, and as councilors arrive, theyre going to be walking past this memorial as they report back to the Curley Center. These councilors described sevenyearold kyzr willis as a star of the summer dropin found in the water after councilors somehow lost sight of him in the afternoon. The cityrun summer dropin program at the center stopped for several day, but now the city is getting to reopen, but with new procedures in place. The new rules include down hairs taking a head count every hour, all kids going into the ocean will wear life preservers. Theyre increasing staffing levels. Get inside get inside powerful floodwaters sweeping through historic Ellicott City on a busy saturday night. Theres people in the water. Residents jumped into action, i will never forget seeing that video of the human chain saving that person out of that car. Six inches of rain in two hours was too much for elliott city. It took a direct hit. The water receded fast, but the damage was already done. Murdersuicide involving a retired police officer. Investigators believe the former officer shot and killed his wife in his home on friday. Authorities say he then drove to new jersey with his wifes body in the trunk and turned the gun on himself when officers spotted him on the highway. Police say they became suspicious after the retired officer called his children saying he had done something bad to their mother. The first started just before 2 00 a. M. Which by the way is the second time that its theres been a fire at this home this past year. Right now no reported injuries, though. Sarah breaking overnight, a Police Investigate under way in newton. Early this morning Mass State Police and Newton Police were seen searching on Hammond Street near the longwood cricket club. John sarah, lawmakers passed a bill that publishes the states first regulation for ridesharing Services Like iewper and lift. The deal would require a twotiered system of background checks for all drivers for the appbased ride services. One conducted by the company and another by the state. It would also impose a 20cent fee per ride. The money would be split among tongues, citie of transportation and a fund designed to help cab and livery drivers. Ride sharing companies would also be allowed to pick up passengers at the Convention Center and logan. Drivers would need permits to pick up people at the airport. We do know the governor is planning to sign a bill that would require men and women to receive equal pay for equal work. Massachusetts lawmakers unanimously approve the bill. Youre taking a look here at a swampscott scene where man is set to face a judge after his home went up in flames over the weekend. Police say the suspect purposefully burned down his home on lyndon avenue saturday afternoon. A firefighter was taken to the as well. The homeowner has been charged with arson. Providence Police Investigating a murdersuicide involving a retired officer. Investigators gave the former officer shot and killed his wife in his home friday. He then drove to new jersey with his wifes body in the trunk. Then he turned the gun on himself when officer spotted him on the highway. Right now investigators are still looking for a motive. A public hearing will be held in officers plan the use body cameras. Last month the department decided it would supply body cameras to officers. The Pilot Program is set to last six months. Sarah new rules going into effect to keep kids safe at bostons summer camps. Today mayor walsh is meeting with parents after last weeks camp tragedy. And these councilors describe 7yearold kyzr willis as a star of the summer dropin program. He died last week, his body found in the water after councilors somehow lost sight of him in the afternoon. The cityrun summer dropin program at the center stopped for several days, but mao the but with new procedures in place. The new rules include councilors taking a head count every hour. All kids going into the ocean will wear life preservers. Theyre increasing staffing levels. The youngest children will have two councilors for every ten children. Other plans including getting 34 surveillance cameras here working and making sure only one entrance is used. So today the councilors will report here to the Community Center. Residents joining together to help rescue people. Jennifer christa, six inches of rain fell in just two hours. Thats as much rain as the area is supposed to get all month long. This is video of just one of the dramatic rescues that happened over the weekend in Ellicott City. One rescuers was nearly swept away. People formed a human chain to pull a woman out of her car. The raging water kept pushing the car, but the rescuers were eventually able to get the woman out and pull her to safety. Officials say 100 people had to be rescued. Two people did not survive. The flooding is historic. The river in feet on saturday night. A number of cars were swept away and dozens of buildings were also damaged. Marylands governor has declared a stated of emergency there.
