A 26yearold man is dead after a serious crash that happened in plainville on washington street. This was late last night. Police say the man was killed when his car collided with a tractortrailer. A young girl also taken to the hospital, but she had nonlifethreatening injuries. Kris happening today, the man accused of an alarming attack in winthrop expected to be in court. Police say the suspect asked the woman to get in his car and when her up. We want to get out live to 7s victoria warren because there is another disturbing twist to the story, vicki. Police say this man wasnt alone when this attack happened. Victoria thats right. Hes facing some serious charges as a result of this. Hes going to be charged with attempted rape. Hes also going to be charged with attempted kidnapping, and police say he did all of this in front of his threeyearold daughter. A screamor winthrop store after a woman was attacked by a stranger. The victim was outside with a bloody face, sitting down on the ground. She started screaming during the attack after he hit her several times in the face and smashed her onto the ground. Police say it all started when the man in this car saw the woman walking and cut in front of her. Why dont you get in and well go for a ride. She rejected his offer. She walked around the car and continued down the street. The man had his threeyearold daughter in the car with him and he wouldnt take no for an answer. They say he followed the woman again, this time getting out of the car. He was frustrated, grabbed her, assaults her and throws her to the ground. Someone heard her screams running into the nearby store for help. I got a cup of ice to help her out, and next thing i see is the cops are asking her questions. The woman remembered his license plate number. Police arrestedim a predator, not even hindered by the presence of his own child. He had total disregard that his daughter was with him and total disregard for any respect for a woman in general. Lynnfield police say the woman has serious injuries to her face. They also say they fear this suspect may try to do Something Like this before. Theyre encouraging anyone with any information to come forward. Winthrop Police Department this morning. Christa happening right now, Police Continue looking for clothes after discovering more human remains at a National Grid site in everett. A worker found the remains yesterday morning. Now this comes after a human skull was discovered at that same site. That was about three weeks ago. Authorities believe both sets of remains belong to the same woman, and the are defining characteristics that they hope will help identify her. The individual had had a fracture to both the right and left side of her nose and possibly surgical remodeling of the nose. Her teeth showed that there had been tooth loss and numerous restorations of the teeth. Christa and police are asking anybody who might have known the woman to go ahead and come forward. Kris scary moments when a police say he tried to break enter a house while a teenager was home alone. Investigators say the suspect walked around the outside of the house several times wednesday before eventually breaking through a glass door. Police believe this man rode off on a Mountain Bike after the alarm went off. That 14yearold girl was in the house by herself. First it started off like a regular knock, like a polite knock. After it started getting even worse. And it got louder and louder and louder. It sounded like a boom, like somebody shot falling down. Kris she ran. The girl quickly hid in her parents bedroom and called police. Police believe the suspect is connected, as well to, another breakin that happened yesterday. Christa and breaking news out of california this morning where two San Diego Police officers have been shot. This happened early today. Right now their conditions are unclear. But were told one suspect has been taken enter custody. Authorities are still searching for others, and no word yet on what exactly led up to that that a black lives matter banner that you see here is staying put at city hall. This is a decision that coming after a police protest. The union says that the banner incites violence. Jennifer eagan is live at city hall with more on both sides of this debate 678 jen . Jennifer the Police Union Says after officers were killed in dallas and baton rouge in the make of the black lives matter movement, this sign should come down work the mayor here is n carrying a banner that reads, cops lives matter, dozens of Police Officers rallied outside somerville city hall. Their message this black lives matter sign needs to come down. When they begin murdering Police Officers in cold blood, my members started asking, when are we going to do something about it. The Massachusetts Municipal Police Coalition cannot stand for the continued display of jennifer the mayor insists the sign is staying where it is, that somerville can support police while also recognizing Racial Injustice. That sign is not coming down. We have to recognize as a society. We dont know what its like to be discriminated against. Black lives do matter. Were talking buzzards bay, perhaps the cape and more over to the islands. For the rest of us, many towns seeing raindrops this morning, but not all of us seeing the heavy rain. You can see a lot of green showing up in boston out through worcester, but the little dot of but the theme is the downpours are more localized. We have some close to milford New Hampshire to the west of milford New Hampshire up toward greenfield and west of New Hampshire. These are expanding and drifting off to the north and east. Weve had some localized downpours in portions of Worcester County. What were watching for that Flash Flood Watch, whats going on off the jersey shore, you can see developing thunderstorms. It looks like it may clip the south coast of new england as we work through the midtolate Morning Hours. And with all of theoi water at once. So thats the concern there. This little fella was running through the woods when it got caught in a steel trap last month. Theres the trap. The twoyearold had to have several injuries since the incident. The cats owner says it could have been much worse. Then when i saw it, i was like, oh,y didnt know anything about that type of trap. I couldnt figure out how to open it. In particular near buzzards bay, the cape and the islands. Watch heavier rains working in. Showers extending across route 9 n boston out to worcester right now, some light rain, especially out through Worcester County. Every once in a while we caused some downpours back through southwestern New Hampshire, northern Worcester County up into winchendon. Even west of the city of worcester, we have downpours earlier this morning. One downpour close to andover, north andover, thats going to help understood to georgetown. That downpour is brief. In terms of the rainfall total, theyre going to vary across the s. West of worcester a localized spot that picked up an inch of rain. Thats the thing for a lot of us. You get underneath a couple of these heavier downpours and you can catch a quick half an inch or so of rain. Otherwise its just a gentle, steady, light rain there. What were watching for down through southeastern mass is this collection of showers, downpours and thunderstorms trying to get going near long island and then just to the south and east of that. It sort of consolidates and works right across the south coast of new england. Th opportunity to pick up a quick one or twoinches of rain. You can follow the track of it. The brunt of this band, we talked about how it would be a narrow channel that has the ability to throw down one to three inches of rain, the brunt of that band stays to the south. It will not be area wide across southern new england. There may be some narrow bands across southeastern mass, buzzards bay, the cape and the islandses that pick up one to two inches. Kris new this morning, a pilot who crashed a small plane into the water in narragansett on july 4th may not have been allowed to fly. Officials say he had not been feared at the time because his medical certification was delayed. No one was hurt in that crash, but it does remain under investigation. Says blood collections should not resume in that area until the centers can test each incoming blood we were fairly certain that this would ultimately happen because we have so many travelrelated cases in the United States. Christa more than 1,600 people have been diagnosed with zika inside the continental u. S. However, a majority of those cases were contracted by people who came in from other countries. Kris charges have been dropped now against the man who had been accused of murdering government intern chandra levy. Prosecutors have dismissed the they say there isnt enough evidence against him. Levy was 24 years old when she was killed while jogging in a park. This man was convicted back in 2010 but received a new trial when lawyers say witnesses lied in court. All of this in front of his threeyearold daughter. A scream for help outside a winthrop store after a woman was attacked by a stranger. The victim was outside with a bloody face, sitting down on the ground. She started screaming during the attack after he hit her several times in the face and smashed her onto the ground. Victoria police say it all started when the man was in his car, saw the woman walking, and cut in front of her. She rejected his offer. She walked around the car and continued down the street. Victoria police say the entire time the manned a his threeyearold daughter in the car with him, and he wouldnt take no for an answer. They say he followed the woman again, this time getting out of the car. He was frustrated, grabbed her, assaults her and throws her to the ground. Victoria someone heard her screams, running into the nearby store for help. I got a cup of ice to help her out, and next thing i see is e questions. Victoria the woman remembered his license plate number. Police arrested him, calling him a predator, not even hindered by the presence of his own child. He had total disregard that his daughter was with him and seeing and total disregard for any respect for women in general. Individuals have had a fracture to both the right and left side of her nose and possibly surgical remodeling of the nose. Christa one of the states most wanted sex offenders is now behind bars. 48yearold miguel velaz was arrested in new jersey on thursday. He was wanted for two counts for failing to register as a sex offender after he was convicted of several charge, including raping a child. Hes the fourth of the sixth most wanted sex offenders found in the past week. House officials are now seeing positive for the west nile virus. Those samples came from boston, waltham and arlington. A 26yearold man is dead after a serious crash in plainville. It happened on washington street late last night. Police say this man was killed when his car collided with a tractortrailer. A young girl in his car was taken to the hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries. Trying the abduct her is headed to court. Whats worse now, police say the suspect attacked the woman in front of his own child. 7s victoria warren live now with the very latest on this disturbing crime, vicki. Victoria very disturbing, and police say that it is incredible that this man is accused of doing all of this with his threeyearold daughter inside the car at the time. This all happened in winthrop. And police say this woman does not know this man. They say they found this woman bleeding, parts of her face fractured. The man attacked her after she repeatedly refused his attempts to get her in the car. Police say the woman was walking away. He continued to follow her and eventually got out of his car, leaving the child in the car, and then they say he groped the woman, grabbed her and threw her to the ground. He jumped back in his car when she started screaming. Now police say this woman was able to get his license plate number, and thats how they some surveillance video. They arrested him. Winthrop Police Concerned that this may not be the first time this man has tried Something Like this, so they say if you have any information that could help them out in their investigation, they want the hear from you. Christa detectives are looking for clues after more human remains were discovered at a National Grid in everett, at a work site there. Investigators say a worker found the remains yesterday morning and that comes after a human skull was discovered at that same site three weeks ago.
