Fallout after the death of 7yearold kyzr willis, the young boy who drowned at a boston city camp program. Center is on paid administrative leave. And the news comes after the mayor met the victims family and wont say much but that they were absolutely devastated. He came back to city hall about an hour later and announced to the press that he has put the director of the Curly Community center on paid administrative leave as they continue to investigate exacwh now, the mayor wont say what the directors role was when 7yearold kyzr willis went missing. The boy was attending a cityrun program at the Curly Community center and last seen around 2 15. Crews with boats and helicopters searched for him and sadly little kyzr willis body was found in the water, 15 yards from shore behind the l street bathhouse about five hours later. The Mayors Office says they are working to piece together a better timeline of what happened. They do know that the director, supervisor, 25 counselors and 8 lifeguards were watching 56 kids at the time. Its my hope and expectation that no family ever has to go there you this horrific loss. Its a tough day. It was a tough day yesterday, you know, just a horrible day. Our review has already begun, independent of what the police are doing with their investigation. And an assessment of all of our camps and free dropin c the center will reopen to adults tomorrow, to children on monday.
