Meteorologist and it holds category 4 streangtdz 130 Miles Per Hour moving northwest at 13 Miles Per Hour. The Hurricane Center, it looks like they may have sthiftd the track. Forecast. Earlier today it had it right over Cape Canaveral during the day tomorrow but now that red line is a little farther east. Thats great news because the core of the strongest winds, the 130mileperhour winds stay tied to that that red line and so theyre not as far inland as once perhaps thought. So in any event it does continue to parallel the georgia South Carolina coastline tomorrow night and saturday and loops all the way around back into the bahamas by tuesday of next week, but much weaker, a Tropical Storm at th now, here you go. Here is the Doppler Radar out of miami showing essentially two eye walls, the outer eye wall is right here fort pierce toward West Palm Beach where winds are gusting 60 Miles Per Hour, but in terms of the most intense twhainsd found right at the inner eye wall which is right here, and it look like looking at some new information as well as the Hurricane Centers new forecast track, that inner eye wall, that intense eye wall may parallel and stay just offshore late tonight and tomorrow morning. That would be good news for the late tonight and through the day tomorrow as well as very heavy rain and a storm surge approaching seven to 11 feet. North florida, georgia and South Carolina. Anyone who had an idea of evacuating done that in this area tilt at this point as these conditions start to deteriorate it. Really is not a good idea to be out on the streets. I took a check about 30 minutes ago, didnt see anyone out there in our area, so thats good news. If you have decided to rietd ride think thing out, youve got do stay hunkered down at this point. Its time to get into a safe place and ride the next 24 to 48 hours out here. Were going to see significant wind gusts over 100 miles an 18 inches in some areas, flooding is going to be an issue. This is a storm that could frighteningly loop around and affect this area again early next week, so this is the beginning of what is going to be a very rough time here, guys. Reporter it is breezy but the worst of it is way behind us and now the bahamas will try to clean up. Early thursday morning Hurricane Matthew, a carting 3 storm, smashes into nassau rocked saw. For hours the town is pelted, done, extensive damage. It was basically 100, 100 miles an hour wind. Reporter everywhere you look trees are down, and thats not even the worst part. Southern part of the island quickly flooded. Cars were crushed. This marina rocking in the the waves. But just as fast as they got ready for this storm, they were cleaning up from it, raindrops still falling from the sky. Patrick hall was out with a hand saw. Just normal a few down. No major damages. And then as you take a closer look here thats where we have the eye wall. Thats where when you talk about maximum sustained winds 130 Miles Per Hour, its confined to that inner eye wall. Sometimes in these storms you have a secondary eye wall. Thats what this is right here still offshore. And that is continues to marsh north toward fort pierce and melbourne, the windsrama in excess of 70 Miles Per Hour. West palm beach, again seen winds that high. I have seen winds socationly gusting 35, 40 Miles Per Hour but nothing at catastrophic as what we saw move over freeport and the bahamas earlier today. So there you go. The inner eye wall, thats the most dangerous portion of the storm but then you have the outer portion approaching the florida coastline overnight tonight and through the day tomorrow. The latest thinking from the Hurricane Center may not actually have the eye wall itself make landfall but even with that said, even if this eye still going to have at least 74mileperhour winds grazing the coastline. Looks like from melbourne up toward palm coast thats going to be your areay when you have the strongest winds ins and of 75 Miles Per Hour for the longest time. So it will be in that window where were talking about the possibility of extreme wind damage, as well as very heavy rain, and then just inland from there were talking from the to 60 Miles Per Hour twhintdz area shaded in the yellow and the orange. On the other coast back toward and naples nothing. Just a northerly breeze overnight and through the day tomorrow. Then the storm continues the list northeast and weaken further, but still powerful. So the storm srnlg a concern not so much for miami, fort lauderdale, but as you get up toward fort pierce and more so melbourne and Daytona Beach and north of there, thats where we have the storm itself is shoving all this water toward the coastline, and the shape of the coastline is set up like this, and so as that water comes in, it traps the water in there and it lead to that storm surge of 7 to 11 feet. Something similar to this happened with hurricane bob where we had the water coming up into nair ganset bay and buzzards bay several years ago. A tough night for the folks in florida.
