It has Storm Tracker radar, weather alerts and you can get customized forecasts for your town. Vanessa we continue to follow breaking news from boston. A 7yearold boy is going to be just fine after being rescued from a staterun pool in hyde park. There were more than 100 kids in the pool at the time. Fox 25s Jackie Heinrich is there live and jackie, two lifeguards and a mom are all being credited with saving this child. The reporter thats right. The pool was packed, and guards the deck area of other swimmers, while those First Responders and the Good Samaritans worked to revive that child, but it could have turned to chaos, his body was turning limp and he didnt have a pulse for several minutes, while all those folks are trying to get out of the way, so people could help him. Witnesses say that little boy had followed a Family Member into a deeper part of the pool, where he couldnt touch the bottom and he panicked, swallowing a lot of water. Thats when people nearby noticed the boys limp body and pume him to the side, where they break, rushed over to help the guards that had blown the whistle and another woman with medical training jumped in and started doing cpr. Didnt have a pulse, so i took two to three minutes oh, yeah. I just think about my son, like, that could have been my son. The reporter that boy was taken to Childrens Hospital with his mother. When he were told hes going to be just fine. And all in all, this is a big relief too, not only the folks who helped him, but also the bystanders here. It was a chaotic situation that could have been very different in the end, so of course, everyone very happy, for this positive ending here at this pool in hyde park. Jackie heinrich fox 25 news. Vanessa five days in to the investigation and vanessa marcottes killer is still out there. Investigators are pouring through about 450 tips theyve received so far. The 27yearold disappeared sunday, when she went out for a jog. Her body was found, less than a half mile from her mothers home. Police say vanessa fought back, and her killer will have signs of struggles, scrapes, cuts, or bruises on his body. Fox 25s bob ward live for us in princeton and bob, police have been running down leads, but so far, no big break in this case. The reporter you know, this is a very difficult investigation. All day long, state police investigators, local police, theyve been here, Princeton Police headquarters, combing through all of the evidence. Now, my sources tell me, theyve been running down some very promising leads, but so far, no arrests. Vanessa marcotte disappeared sunday afternoon, during a jog along brook station road in princeton, thats where her mother lives. Vanessas body discovered in woods only half mile away. Our sources tell us, vanessas body was burned on her hands, feet, and head. And she may have been sexually asking if theyve seen anyone with scratch marks on their body. Vanessa, the d. A. Says, fought for her life. At nearby ski resort, officials there say sunday afternoon at about 2 00 p. M. , a man and a woman showed up. The man had suspicious bruises on his body and asked to clean up. He told staff, he was in a motorcycle accident. Resort officials thought this was suspicious. They called investigators and sent along Surveillance Video to state police. Today, i spoke to the Westminster Police chief and he told me, yes, ther motorcycle accident sunday afternoon. And that the couple who refused medical treatment from e. M. S. Went to wachusett resort and asked for help, so according to the police, it all checks out and the incident has nothing to do with the murder of vanessa marcotte. The d. A. s office though will not comment. So that is an interesting lead, and skuicih might still come of it. The police chief tells me that the road where that motorcycle accident took place is one of you were leaving princeton especially if you wanted to get out of princeton quickly. The cruisers that responded to that motorcycle accident have Video Surveillance in them. So the chief has sent video from his cruisers from that accident scene to the state police, just in case they see something there. If they develop any kind of information, or description of a suspicious car at the scene of the murder, maybe that car shows up on the Surveillance Video, that the cruisers caught, but make no mista frustrating case. Coming up, tonight at 6 00 p. M. , i will show you the exact spot in the woods where vanessas body was found sunday night. Reporting live from princeton, bob ward, fox 25 news. Vanessa as bob has mentioned, state and local police still looking for any tips that could help lead to vanessas killer. All tips are anonymous. The number here is on your screen. Vanessa water bans are in place across the state, but in one town, its even harder to come by. Plymouth shares one of its Water Supplies with cranberry growers. Water levels have fallen low enough that the town can only use half as much as it usually does. Fox 25s Robert Goulston live in plymouth tonight, where that longtime contract robert, causing some big problems. The reporter vanessa, yeah, over here to stay if business. They have to cut the use dramatically. K. C. Beelined it for the water. Water that this summer is slowly taking a toll on. The water levels normally will go up to here. Out every day and measures the level at darby pond. The pond helps officials determine the levels in the underground well used for drinking water. The problem when the pond gets down to a certain revel, the town has a deal with two Cranberry Bogs that it has to reduce withdrawal by 50 . They have to. Its their business. The reporter public works Officials Say they have more than enough water, the concern is overworking the entire system to move the water e. So were moving. So were moving water to puts weaknesss on those other areas. The reporter on average, the darby ponds well provides about 1. 25 million gallons of water. Now, the town can only take about 500,000 gallons. The town declared a water emergency a few weeks ago. So far, they have been able to cut the systemwide demand by a million gallons of water per day. The town is also counting on people to conserve water to just take the burden off the system off a whole. If one of our pumps went down, if we had a major water break necessary water to meet demand, then we would have to come up with some other means to move water into plymouth. The reporter right now, the town needs this water level to go back up about 6 inches. Theyre hoping for rain to make that happen. In the meantime, theyre also lobbying the state to see if they would waive this restriction until after the drought. We are live in plymouth, Robert Goulston, fox 25 news. Sarah im tracking rain out there right now, some we actually recall getting some reports of thank you so much for sending in all of your reports and viewer pictures. This one right here, one by one, under a tree, in line, as a tree has fallen down on this road right here on the Bedford Billerica line, so just be aware, you may run into some traffic problems as some of these storms have rolled on through with heavy rain and strong winds, but also, a lot of lightning. Take a look at this picture. This is what it looked like as it passed over somerville, you can see the clouds in the distance there. Looking at boston right now better than it did about an hour ago. And look at that temperature. 86 degrees. Now, typically, we would say, hey, that is really a warm day out there, above average, but you know what, it was in the 90s about an hour ago, and that heat index was over 100. That dew point 78. Thats a record for this date to have that dew point so high. And with the combination of the high temperatures, as well as the high dewpoints, you get what is your feelslike conditions, dressing for how it feels, the Comfort Level outside. And it feels like its in the upper 90s to 100 degrees. So we still have that excessive heat warning with that possibility of a heat index going up to 108 for the boston area, this area shaded in pink. That also includes parts of connecticut, otherwise, a heat advisory means you could have that heat index up to about 105. Its holt. Its humid. When you get that combination, its uncomfortable, and youve got a lot of moisture to work with in the air, doesnt take much f weve been tracking some thunderstorms, and some of them have been severe. Now, this is a brand new Severe Thunderstorm Warning, because just a couple minutes ago, before i came on, we didnt have this yellowshaded area, but now in the providence area, youre under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for this storm that is producing so much lightning. I also want to point out, there is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning out in western parts of massachusetts, this is a storm that went through new york, and actually five people were injured from getting hit pinkerton lightning. This particular storm right here. Its over 2,000 strikes in the last minimum minutes, along with earmarked for heating last 15 minutes, along with heavy rain. Where youre seeing heavy rain, its slow moving to the south and east, so some areas are going to see a good amount of rain in a very short period of time. I know, some of us actually need this rain, but we dont want it all at the same time. Watching this storm develop right now in west bridgewater, heading to the south and east, were going to have to watch this closely as it looks to be developing in the last 15 minutes, and any now pushing off. So our futurecast takes the threat of these showers and storms through the evening hours with some improvement to the north, and then as we head through the overnight, when the sun sets, well see some improvement. Partly cloudy skies, some areas of fog, watching this frontal boundary thats going to dip southward, mabry cooler conditions to the coast tomorrow, staying hot and humid in the interior and that means another round of showers and storms in the afternoon and evening mainly to the north and as the front lifts to the north on sunday, were bringing back the heat, were bringing back uncomfortable conditions, and more showers and storms to erupt late in the day. That fronts finally comes on through, producing some showers early monday and then drying us out late monday into tuesday, with temperatures back to near normal. Over to you. We also have a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of western mass, for this storm with a lot of lightning and a history of actually lightning that has injured multiple over 2000 strikes with this particular storm, as well as some heavy rain, looks as though we could see some possible flooding with this rain coming on through. And it has sort of linked up with this shower that has really developed over bridgewater w lightning as well, heavier downpours and some showers extending to the coast, probably if marshfield youre hearing a rumble of thunder, pushing this into motion, southeast, about 25 miles an hour, going to hitting the carver area, around 5 45 p.
