Again, city officials confirms that two private construction workers were trapped in a trench and killed this afternoon over on dartmouth street. Right now, efforts being made to drain the water out of that trench so that the bodies of those two construction workers can be recovered. Reporting live from the south okay. Bob. As bob just showed us, viewers sending us video of the coverage all afternoon. Mark ockerbloom continues our coverage. It paints a picture of the desperation the workers had to help those workers. It does. In a very busy part of the city on a friday, especially. Dozens of people who helped to try and help the victims. This is the area of what it this is dartmouth and up here tremont street, thats the intersection right here. What you have right here, the fire hydrant. This played an active role because at one point, when this collapsed water rose to the point where just the top of the higher hydrant was visible from sky fox overhead. Look at this video, and you can see at least one person will be down on his hands and knees as it goes by here. Watch what happens, hes reaching into the trench as water will flow out around him just above the trench. And another viewer sent us this video right here, and you can see firefighters walking through the water, bringing ladders to the scene, that water covered a large portion of dartmouth street right into tremont. They are now left with the pet bills and caring for her like their own dogs. I really hope he pays for it. Sad. No charges have been filed. Lexington police are starting their investigation. Firefighters believe the hole is 12 feet deep and now working to make it safe so no one else gets hurt trying to recover the victims. We had to drain the water first.
