Yeah, well, vanessa, it appears that police have found the boys family because within the last five minutes, a group of people arrived here on the scene, fall asking screaming, falling to the ground, completely crippled by her emotion. The fire truck here, ambulance responding just about a minute ago and it appears that theyre having great diffi its been a very difficult night, not only for the family as theyre just coming to grips with this and learning what happened but for investigators who spent at least four hours trying to track them down and for those who were here on the scene, trying to piece together this tragic chain of events. Reporter over and over again, Mass State Police investigators tried to reenact a collision that occurred at 6 45 tonight on main street in between that silver suv and a young boy on this bike, take a good look at it and you can see how the crash was deadly. Perhaps worse than that, though, is is the inability so far to identify the boy and notify his family were working very closely with School Officials and the cell phone the boy had to try to get an id, but so far this has just been really frustrating because, you know, we know theres a family out there that lost their son tonight and we really need point we have not been able to make a notification. Reporter were told the cell phone is locked so theres no access to any acts and no one has made a missing persons report so far. Much is hinging on the testimony of the many who witnessed the tragedy and of the 18yearold driver. Very active investigation. Way too soon to know if charges will or wont be filed but the driver did stop and was being treated at the hospital just as a precaution. A man was seriously hurt in lowell tonight when he walked into the path of a pickup truck. Neighbors say the man stepped off a curb on riverside street. First eventual boston but couldnt get a helicopter because of the foggy conditions. The woman who is driving the car is cooperating with police. Tonight this level 33 sex offender is under arrest again. Police say he exposed himself in front of a High School Volleyball team. Malini basu is in walpole with the story youll only see on fox 25 tonight. That team actually helped police catch this guy. Thats right. Theyre saying that she was one quickthinking teenager but here he is, mark, darin grant. Just a short time ago. He is a level 3 sex offender. Investigators say tonight that man was following a bus full of girls and it was thanks to the one quickthinking teenager who snapped a photo of him and Police Caught him. Reporter investigators told us darin grant was following a school bus full of girls from the norfolk countying aal high school in walpole. The teens were headed to a volleyball game. At some point that vehicle pulled up alongside the school bus and e was, you know, performing an act on himself. Reporter its this picture that Walpole Police say helped them catch a level 3 sex offender. Investigators say he was, quote, trying to strike again. The quick and smartthinking teenagers not only snapped a photo of grants car but then told the chaperone on board. Immediately the officers that were responding to that scene knew that that was the area of a level 3 sex offender. Reporter police told us they knew exactly who they were monitor. Track that gps bracelet down to weymouth where we sent officers down there to locate him. Reporter grant was recently released from jail. I just couldnt believe that he lived here right next to the kids. Reporter he ended up living on Chapman Street with another man in the house. Its directly across from the high school. For the first time i saw him maybe a couple of days ago. He was just pretty much standing in the yard with a weed whacker, believe it or not. Ep was off about him. Grants rap sheet includes at least 18 convictions of openness and gross lewdness since 1991. Obviously he has issues and hopefully, you know, he figures them out. And police tell us all 18 of those convictions have to do with the same exact thing where he was exposing and touching himself in front of people. In the meantime, grant is being held on a 50,000 bail, and he will be facing a judge first malini basu, fox 25 news. New at 11 00, a mess on this New Hampshire highway when a lumber truck crashed into the guardrail. Police say the driver fell asleep at the wheel. State police say it happened on interstate 89 south in granthum. The debris from that crash blocked travel lanes. The driver was taken to dartmouth but expected to survive. Boston police are investigating a shooting on dorchester avenue tonight. Our crews saw about shell casings on the ground where police were looking for evidence. This is near the intersection of parkman street and dorchester ave. Police tell us the man who was shot is at Boston Medical Center with lifethreatening injuries. They have not made any arrests. Police are offering 5,000 for information leading to an arrest in a series of fires two weeks ago. Several scooters, cars and a to call the state arson hotline. David king, the same doctor who saved lives after the marathon bombings in 2013. The same doctor who had just finished the marathon himself, then jumped into a marathon of surgerying to save surgery operating on at least one of the boston Police Officers gunned down answering a domestic call last week. He has trauma to the leg and was give great care. The doctors team twitter page list him, among other things as a marathoner iron man triathlete, surgeon, harvard professor and combat veteran. He was employed to afghanistan Lieutenant Colonel and combat is surgeon before he started working at mass general in 2008. Some of that training helped treat marathon victims in 2013. All of our patients have benefited from the Lessons Learned from the past decade. Reporter one of those lessons is the tourniquet, used on the battlefield to save lives, dr. King has reintroduced it to a program that trains includes a group of boston Police Officers who took his program a week before the east boston shooting. They credit that training with keeping their brother officers alive until they got to mgh. The officer who actually applied it meaning just this past thursday, so you talk about a coincidence really paying off. And it did pay off. It looks like those low clouds, the fogginess will start to burn off and well see wind with mid70s at lunchtime and a very low rain chance. A 20 shot north of the pike for the morning drive, south of the pike for the afternoon drive. But you see here the overall rule will be brightening skies. A swimmer found hours after he went missing and a teenager killed riding his bike. In ipswich, a father and son swept out to sea by a rip current at crane beach. But the father spent five hours in 59degree water before coast guard rescue swimmers found him and brought him back to shore. Moments ago they were identified.
