The boy was learning to swim the day it happened . Reporter thats right, Boston Police tell us earlier in the day kaiser will his been here in the water on carson beach. A camp counsellor was with him holding him up as he kicked his feet trying to learn how to swim. This was just unfortunate tragic accident. Reporter three days after the death of 7yearold kaiser willis, Boston Police announced the dorchester boy had died of an accidental drowning tuesday at the city run day camp at south bostons Curly Community center. Fortunately that particular day one of the counsellors was trying to teach him to swim. Reporter commissioner bill evans outlined the timeline that afternoon. At 2 15 counsellors cleared all kids from the water to get ready for pickup. The bathout but for around 2 30 his brother noticed he wasnt. There by 2 49 the director called 911. The lifeguards had locked arms and were scanning the beach from one fence to the other. Reporter the quincy harbor master later located kaisers body. We dont know how he got back into the wraur and thats the mystery here. Reporter asked if staff notified police soon enough evans answered yes.
