George is it going to be another three or four years before we see you again . Because all your films take a long time to make. Yeah, i would love if it was but toy story was four and a half. Most of them were pretty long. Hunker down and do a lot of work. George wheres the first place this will go in your ho . First, im going to takist it back to work and share it with all the amazing people who made the film. This is the second one ive been lucky enough to win. I had a stylist bring over a bunch of dresses and this one was something unusual, a little bit more structured and i was excited to try something different. For me, my are the super bowl of style. I will wear this to a formal bar mittsa a couple of months from now because i have to get some mileage out of it. Whats the biggest part of it for you . Seeing elton john in person and being. The man is amazing. He is a reallife human being and hes going to be performing here tonight as well. He threaded that needle to talk about these really kind of intense subjects. One of his first jokes about how people didnt protest the lack of oscar diversity in the 60s because they were busy dealing with real things like lynchings. That was a hard hardcore joke. Got a lot of jokes but also very serious. He set the tone from the begin. Thats what everybody is going to be talking about tomorrow. You cover the industry. Do you think that the academy will eventually become more thats a great question because its so hard. Theres so much work to do in changing, moving this big ship behind the scenes and getting people into these positions where theyre hiring, that they are in this he are directing that they are making these decisions. Thats where i think a lot of change feeds to come. The oscars are not the real problem. Theyre a symptom of that problem a lot of people say. So its changing the studio system. Thats a huge system. It was inspiring to see leo take home the award but weve got to talk about sly stallone. We thought maybe this would be his year. Shocked . What . He was a lock going into the race. And you know what . He didnt win 40 years ago. And everybody thought, this is his moment. He was so incredible in creed. What a phenomenal film. So poetic to give it to sly. And then the Academy Award went to the incredibly deserving mark rylance. And i leapt out of my seat and i went what . We were all shocked. Who knows, maybe in another 40 years might be his time. Never know. Well never know. But mad max won so many. Sort of a joke at the end of the night. People were joking around they were surprised the next award wasnt won by them. This is another one i am so psyched to see win that many awards because this is like a summer popcorn flick that audiences loved. And critics loved, too. Over at rot n ten tomatoes that movie was 97 certified fresh. Both the hearts of audiences and critics. Mad max drove straight into our hearts and got all these really legitimizing awards. Nice. It was the best written movie of all of 2015. Well deserved there. But i got to ask, beyond the surprises . Were there flew other surprises or fun parts of the night you thought, this is actually kind of funny and great . I thought the night was pretty lacking in funny speeches or surprising moments. I really enjoyed even just little equips from louis ck, but i think chris rock as the host far exceeded i know my personal expectations for host in whats going into it was a really tricky year. And there were such High Expectations for chris rock. The fact you think he performed, thats impressive. What about the whole racial component to hollywood . An Army Staff Sergeant has been arrested for the murder of a Virginia Police officer. The officer was on her very first patrol. Woodbridge officer Ashley Guindon was killed when she responded to a domestic Family Violence call at the home of ronald hamilton. Hes also accused killing his wife before police arrived.
