Satellite and radar showing a few of those high level clouds which is great for a sunrise like this, because you can get those gorgeous colors and hows out of those clouds and with those high level clouds were still going to see plenty of sunshine. Were dealing with some very leesburg. Were talking less than half a mile visibility in that area. Every else is a touch from ocala, clermont, and kissimmee. Weve got Clear Conditions through orange, seminole, counties. Just depends on where you are. Current temps, cool, 39 in palm coast, 41 in ocala 46 in in winter haven and were only going up from here. Darlene . State investigators are investigating what happened during an officerinvolved shooting during a busy street and the suspect is not the person who was shot. This story was breaking last night on Eyewitness News at 10 00 and 11 00. Were live near 1792 and americana boulevard is and were still waiting to learn how the victim is involved in this. Reporter right now police have not released those details but i can tell you this all started around 7 00 last night. You can take a look. This is the stretch of road that was all blocked off around that time yesterday. It is now back open as of is this morning. Sanford Police Received a suspicious man call around night. Fire. Victim isnt the person who was in custody. Were still investigating his investment. Right now its the initial stages and the investigation is under way. Its unclear what led up to the shooting but skywitness9 was above the shooting which includes a corridor thats usually busy on a friday night. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. We asked police who made the initial call for help, and if the victim was a bystander or related to the suspect. Were told those are all questions investigators are working to answer. St. Cloud police are investigating two deaths they say could be suspicious. Skywitness9 flew over this home on woodlake circle yesterday. Police told us bodies of a man and woman believed to be in their 90s. Well bring you an update on wftv. Com once more information and were getting a look at Surveillance Video that shows a group of suspected car jackers who Orlando Police say sparked an officerinvolved shooting. This all started with a chase yesterday morning on conway road and ended on south street near bumby avenue. The owner of a pet grooming business told us she in stalled cameras two years ago, and some of them captured the moment the suspect refused comply with police. To put so many people in danger and not care is whats disturbing. One of the suspects was shot but is expected to be okay. That person and two other suspects are in custody. State agents are handling this investigation as is routine. Names. The homeless of no longer camped out a Volusia County Administration Building. Last night, Daytona Beach Police Showed up on north beach street. They could move to a shelter set up at the Salvation Army or be arrested. Most went to the shelter which was only able to take 86 people. Only one person was arrested for refusing to leave. Say that could do a lot better. Theyre doing all they can i guess is theyre doing what they can. Police chief chitwood said they had to do something because of the inappropriate behavior. He vetted plans with the homeless and plans to release that video next week. It shows criminal activity going on at that camp. It says the cause of death for her daughter is unknown, but the contributing factor was inhaling bleach. There were rumors duboss went to a hospital and told the staff someone threw bleach on her. The bleach is the cause of her death, so whoever threw the bleach on her, thats murder. I need more done. I need more answers. Tallahassee police wont say if theyre working on this as a murder. Vigil with the escaped family. Volusia county deputy say b bull bullocks girlfriend drove the getaway car and his son was with her. Bullock is considered armed and dangerous. Brown was arrested last week accused of sexual assaulting a 12yearold girl for more than a year and believe brown may have abused a 13yearold girl. His bond has been set at more investigators are still working to find out if a woman intentionally walked into traffic in the middle of orlandos tourist district. 32yearold candice was hit and killed on World Center Drive thursday night. The driver thomas kelly told state troopers he didnt see her. Traffic was backed up on International Drive for hours after that crash. He was visiting orlando from canada. State agents are still investigating what led up to a shootout between a suspect and an officer in the middle of a busy sanford street. Highway 225 a in ocala on monday. Detectives say a robber broke into her home, killed her, then took cash and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Investigators found the body performing weed control on oak ridge road. Pierson was reported missing tuesday by his family. This morning a homeless camp outside a Volusia County Administration Building is gone. For 44 days, the homeless camp had been there. He announced after 44 days to who needed a place to live would be moved somewhere else. If you have somewhere else to go you are free to pack it up and you are free to leave. If you refuse to leave, youre going to be arrested under the camping ordinance. Some left, others got on the help they desperately needed. 86 beds were made available less than a mile away from here. One man told us hell go but theres still a lot of work that needs to be done. Theyre doing what they can but its more for them to get us off the street because their race is coming around, they dont want the tourist seeing Homeless People on the street. And one bill would allow people to carry guns on College Campuses as long as they have a concealed weapons permit. The other would let you carry guns openly in public places. Florida is one of five states that dont allow people to openly carry guns in some form. Orange county residents have been dealing with trash trouble since the county started a new take a look at these pictures. Eyewitness. People living along Powers Ridge Court in orlando say this trash since january first. 1st. They called the county after reaching out to us, and the mess was cleaned up an hour later. Investigators believe Edward Strobush and others were stealing equipment and using school accounts to order auto items for their personal use. Strobush is on leave, pending the outcome of a personnel investigation. Hes been with the district since 1979. Orlando police say nearly 600 guns were taken off the streets and out of the hands of criminals last year, a 10 jump compared to 2014. Police say some of the 598 guns a majority of them are handguns but you can see here, there are some rifles and shotguns capable of breaking through an officers body armor. This is representative of the work that weve done. We know theres other guns out there and thats why we continue to work as hard as we can to get these guns off streets for the officers. Satellite and radar is showing that clouds are clearing though and we will get a lot of sunshine as we move into the day today. High pressure has taken over the weather and it will be in kwlarj for the next few days, and our court temperatures right now, are quite cool, coolest at sunrise before we start to rebound, but 39 in ocala and palm coast, 48 in sanford, 46 in downtown orlando, 45 in dew points are in the 30s and 40s though and thats whats fantastic about the winters here, is that our dew points behind these cold fronts are very low its comfortable and were going to continue to be comfortable through the weekend, even though the highs will get into the upper 70s. Wind speeds are pretty quiet. Theyre quite calm and theyll be out of the south at 5 to 10 today so because of that were going to warm up quite quickly into the 70s this afternoon after a clear and cool start. Well have lots of sunshine. Well warm up and have a comfortable evening tonight a little milder. Sanford police said they received a call is about a suspicious man with a gun along 1792 and Airport Boulevard friday night. When police got there shots were fired and Police Responded by opening fire. Police said the havent isnt the person who was in custody. Were still working to find out how that person was involved in a situation. Right now its the initial stages and the investigation is now under way. Its unclear what led up to the shooting. We asked please who made the initial police who made the initial call for help and if the victim was a bystander or related to the suspect. Lets take a look at when some of this unfolded. Police got a call around 7 00 regarding a suspicious male walking down the road pointing a gun in the area of 1792 and Airport Boulevard. The suspect opened fire when the officer arrived. The officer then returned fire and as darlene mentioned, a bystander was hit, that nonlifethreatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Again, smith is being charged with attempted homicide, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest. And again, fdle will be investigating, that is standard protocol any time an officer is involved in a shooting. Marion county detectives are asking for your help to find the suspect in a fatal home invasion. 57yearold tamara was found dead into her home. Someone broke into her home, killed her and took cash and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. If you have any of information, youre asked to call the Marion County sheriffs office. Orange county detectives are trying to determine if a body they found may be a young man who was reported missing earlier this week. The i4 ultimate project is intruding on neighborhoods up and down the highway. Construction crews ripped up hundreds of trees as they moved the highway closer to some neighborhoods. We asked why the state is now refusing to do anything about the potential for traffic noise. Reporter this is what the traffic noise sounds like along i4 between Orange Blossom trail and michigan avenue. In just a stones throw away its the holden shores neighborhood. You can see the interstates right on top of us. You never could see i4 from here. Reporter the Florida Department of transportation vegetation. Odell told us it kept the busy highway out of sight but upon head block out some of the noise. I can but helped block out some of the noise. I can hear it inside the house. Sound barrier and only 21 miles qualifies for a noise barrier. We took his concerns to the state agency for answers. Reporter why cant fdot put in a sound wall . Its a little bit more complicated than going in there and say, lets put up a sound wall. Studies are done and you look at the environment. Reporter fdot told us the noise has to reach 66 decibels and the state must determine how many homes would benefit. The cost is a factor, thats because there has to be enough homes that a sound wall would benefit to keep the cost of the wall to 42,000 per home. In this case, fdot predicts no homes qualify, but Officials Say 14foot wall would cost nearly 1 million. I4 is going to be up really high there and the sound is going to travel on top of them. You can see here the state is already preparing to add whats called a dry retention pond, which will include some trees likely not nearly enough to nearly enough to satisfy odell who moved into what is now a historic neighborhood 28 years ago. I want a solid barrier like what theyre doing in other areas. The state will up great a two and a half foot safety wall to three and a half feet.
