This clerk told you worse things have happened. He told me when i know when this suspect walked into this store he didnt have time to think. You may have seen the video of a mims store clerk turning the tables on an armed criminal last month. The 34yearold army vet said today it was just muscle memory and good training. The robber came through the front door over here, walked around, caught me when i wasnt looks, turned around and he was standing there with the gun and told me to put the money in the bag. David dick who just happened to be in a superman shirt when he caught up with him at the said he served multiple tours in iraq. Fearing he might be shot at home when he saw an opportunity he took it. That was number one in my mind, get the gun away, remove the threat and, you know, hopefully detain. That didnt happen. After the suspect took off running david dick realized something was wrong with the revolver, it was an air soft gun. It made me more upset. The Sheriffs Office is still looking for the robber. On the agencys website it said the suspect will probably think twice before taking on another vet but added they never encourage citizens to actively engage criminals over money. David dick agrees. A 13yearold told police he fought 53yearold john worling in his Daytona Beach home before he escaped and called 911. My neighbor molested me and was touching me. The victims family was not home at the time of the alleged crime but said worling worked the boys stepmother even said worling would buy things for her stepson. He bought my stepson a pair of shoes, a bag, got him a 50 prepaid visa card for christmas, a stocking full of candy. Worling is a certified Airline Pilot and army veteran. He does not have a criminal record. He was armed with a gun shortly before his arrest and threatened to kill himself. Worling is faces felony charges including kidnapping and aggravated child abuse. Vince poe said he couldnt be believe it when he got the news that his friend, cristiaan dubrino had been shot and killed following a shoot out with Marion County deputies here at this gas station. I came over. I was just about to here. The confrontation with night. Deputies say they were dispatched here after getting reports that dubrino was armed. Deputies found dubrino with one gun to his head and the other at deputies. Deputies pleaded with him to put down the gun. Please put the gun down, man, please. Dubrino got on the phone and paced around his car and later got in. The video doesnt show what happened next but the Sheriffs Office said he started shooting at deputies and they returned fire. Out dubrino was wounded and Deputy Daniel trammell was also hit in the leg. Dubrino later died. Dubrino has been in trouble before and was on probation for trying to run away from police and for resisting arrest. Hes also been arrested on numerous other charges across the country including kidnapping, battery and assault with a deadly weapon. We went to his apartment to talk with his family but no one answered. Reporter now, the Sheriffs Office said the officers that were involved in the shooting have not been placed on paid leave.
