So I've never really understood that it blows my mind when I hear college writers say I don't watch much of the n.f.l. And it blows my mind when I hear in a fellow rider say. The watch much college what it does football what are you doing are you really too busy perusing the waiver wire on a Saturday to not click on a game and as a college guy are you so busy writing that you don't put a game on the back get out of here with that so we're going to talk a lot of college football on the show because it was week one and it deserves conversation and we just finished maybe maybe the best game of the Day Now again that's up for debate but we need jerk here tonight. U.s.c. Held off Fresno State. And like I said I'm not here to say Clay Hell's got to go they barely beat Fresno State Fresno state's a good football team they really are and that was an incredible Guddi performance where they easily could have tapped out in the what early 3rd quarter and they did and they kept fighting and scratching an incline and almost won that football game or at least almost put themselves in position to force overtime for that game but there was something from that game and then if you want to go to what had been kind of billed as the biggest game of the day news because really good game do the Oregon Auburn showdown in which off were knocked off the ducks there were 2 what I consider really bad coaching decisions and it and it's not I love taking a risk and going for it in 4th down situations I do I think it I think it empowers your team it shows them that you're your confident nym they kind of buy into it as well too and it just it's fun and it's got it and it doesn't always work but 1st of all I don't know what play u.s.c. Called on their 4th down to try to ice the came in the 4th quarter and I'm a huge Graham Harrell fan but wherever that miscommunication was or whatever. The decision was supposed to be that was either the worst call to play that I think I've ever seen in the history of college football or the worst executed play I mean this is this is up there with James Franklin running right up the middle on 4th down which race which sorely like what are you doing so. I mesmerized by that from the u.s.c. Game they still find a way to win and I think that's the most important thing early in the season survive in advance but I think I might be a little bit more in the word would necessarily be perturbed but maybe just oh my dad's favorite line I'm not mad I'm just disappointed in the decision making behind Oregon's complete in total lack of understanding of the rule book now be honest with you I thought when you had an injured player I thought when you had a guy go down that if you called a timeout they could come back in the game. I thought that was always the rule but as we learned tonight. Not so fast that is only in the situation involving a helmet that popped off right so when you're sitting now granted the crazy thing about the 4th down stop for Oregon is that it it didn't hurt they got the ball they ended up getting the ball back and went backwards even more but to call the timeout and then to burn what their 2nd timeout age can't get your guy back in the game and you you run Virgil right up the middle I think sometimes you know you kind of damned if you do damned if you don't right because if they would have tried to throw it what would we sit here all morning long and say Crito and 4th and one run the ball. I mean Auburn heading into this season there was buzz about a are you ready for this 10 man rotation on their defensive line you're right 10 and all of them are really good they might have 2 1st round picks right now maybe as time progresses as many as 4 playing on that defensive front try to fool him or something but some of the coaching decisions may just blow my mind and in the case of both Clay Helton and Marco Cristobal they were billed bailed out to a certain extent u.s.c. Still wins the game but eventually it bit crystal ball in Oregon falls to Auburn but I don't I don't even know guys if the big story is the fact it all been picked up its 1st win in the final minute of regulation when they had to come back and score go ahead touchdown since that kick 6 against Alabama in 2013 I don't I don't know if that's the biggest story of the day it was obviously the most hyped game because it was the only game between 2 ranked teams I guess I thought the the u.s.c. Fresno State game was great I don't know if the story from today the true top story from today is really about u.s.c. Finding a way to winch finding a way to hold on not put themselves in a position where they're playing in overtime I don't know if that truly is the biggest story of the day but what I think might be the biggest story of the day is how we paint and we are so ready to paint a conference as a failure based on a couple of losses and I'm as guilty as anyone and maybe in the case of say oh I don't know where it just means more in the s.c.c. Maybe a little tired of it so when you see Tennessee years right.
