So Big Ben Say what you want about him there's times where he's maybe created unnecessary drama within that Steelers locker room and within the kind of the Steelers bigger culture obviously he went on radio and said some things about Antonio Brown last year but the point is he is a man who knows how to use the media to get the message across that he wants like Le Bron James in that way Lebron James knows how to use the media get across the message that he wants and that message right there Big Ben Ben Roethlisberger saying I don't know I just know that I'm a love in football you know that says to me you know what I'm also love and not have an levy on Bell and in Tonio Brown here and I know that both of those guys are unbelievably skilled players in Tony Barrell maybe the best wide receiver in the league Bell much like it sat out last year because he just felt like I want to get my body beat up I want the money long term but it also created a lot of drama let's not forget that at this time last year we didn't know one if those even to report to camp 2 was going to sit out the whole season we didn't know all that until much later on in the process and it was at this time last year that everybody is asking Big Ben and the Steelers what's with leave you know what's going to happen and we don't get any answers and he could tell there was frustration some of the offensive linemen kind of just said like we've moved on and so that cloud was over the organization last year and then to end the season Antonio Brown we all remember what happened there right and again it's not to say Antonio Brown's an incredible wide receiver he is but there was all kinds of drama he doesn't show up for practice during the last week shows up to the game in Week 17 expecting a plate Mike Tomlinson you're not playing man. Any Lisa Heinz Field in the middle of week 17 after skipping practice Wow a playoff berth was on the line now they had to win there had to be some you know technicalities for them to get in the playoffs but they were still technically alive for the playoffs and in Tonio Brown not only gets benched he leaves the stadium which of course was his final time in Heinz Field as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers and so I think Ben Ben Roethlisberger saying when he says I don't know I just know I'm loving football I think that's a direct shot I think that's him saying it feels good to just not have to deal with that aches to have guys that want to be here to have James Conner running back to have juice Miss Schuster at wide receiver to not have to worry about getting questions to not have to worry about if I'm going to have problems with my number one go to wide receiver and again I'm not saying Ben Roethlisberger isn't responsible for some of it part of the problem with Antonio Brown was better off his burger was running his mouth on radio we all remember that and so Ben Roethlisberger isn't not to blame here but I think what's clear to me is that this is now Big Ben's team no questions asked Mike Tomlin seemed no questions asked they you know if you want to say they lost the locker room they have the locker room guys are holding out the guys that are there want to be there and I think we're going to see a great season from the Steelers now other guys got to step up because again obviously we know what Antonio Brown does on the field when he's healthy and when he's not you know suspended for Week 17 we know what he's capable of doing but you look at the Steelers last year I was blown away when I looked up some stuff on the Steelers Steelers ranked in the top 10 in oftens top 10 in defense last year they beat the New England Patriots late in the season. And they missed the playoffs they were the only team in the n.f.l. And I would venture to guess if I had you know if we went back and looked I would love to know how many teams of ranked top 10 and often top 10 in defense and missed the playoffs and again I'm not saying Ben Roethlisberger isn't to blame for some of it but it was clear that it was a divided locker room that was in that it was a fractured locker room and I do believe that Ben Roethlisberger by making the comments that he made I don't know I just know that I'm love in football that says to me that Ben Roethlisberger is like man it's just nice to have everybody here and have everybody ready to go and we were pretty good last year the talent was there people really the Steelers had the 2nd most pro bowlers in the entire n.f.l. Last year was in the Patriots wasn't the Chiefs It wasn't the Packers It was the Steelers 2nd most pro bowlers behind the Chargers they had the talent statistically they were phenomenal again top 10 and often top 10 in defense but it never came together and part of it was it Tony Brown part of it was the Lavie I'm Bell stuff and now they get to move on and they have the talent juice misused who are the better wide receivers in this league James Connor stepped up admirably they drafted Benny snow from Kentucky who was one of the best running backs in college football last year they shored up some of the defensive spots in the draft this is a team that I think when you look at this and Bernie talked about in the last segment but bronze getting so much hype.
