But we live in this age now where if you don't have to search that far you can find someone who is triggered by everything we live in the age of Twitter Instagram and Facebook which has given these people a bullhorn these whack a doodle fringes of society to run off and hijack terms and phrases and it's scary thing about it is that there's always a certain percentage of people that are nut jobs that come up with these things but the scary part of it is that there's other people that are followers that believe them that's the thing that blows me away this is blows me away it's like you know you had the conversation about hijacking the Ok sign we talked about that a lot. Player hopefully black who would complain about the N.B.A.'s name being offensive so the breakdown of the actual long form name of the n.b.a. Is National Basketball Association so if you look at the origins of these words National is a word pertaining to nation or country. It's supports nationalism right which many many people are offended by not all inclusive and then you have the word association now how could this possibly be wrong what's a bad word you know the word association goes back I looked it up I looked up the origins of the word it goes back to the 15th thirty's medieval times it means action of coming together for a common purpose which could have gang undertones if you want right why not stretch it out so we cannot associate cannot associate ourselves with those barbaric medieval times where women could not pick their partners women had no rights whatsoever jails were dungeons prisoners were fed very rarely often died of starvation people didn't shower or wash their hands and we are celebrating the word association which comes from barbaric times of medieval period and in the history of the world so if you have a player of prominence complain about the term n.b.a. Supporting nationalism sexism and barbaric activity some somebody at the n.b.a. About you know we maybe we should consider maybe we should get rid of the National Basketball Association because it's sports nationalism and medieval times and the end all of the final point on this. Now and we some can sum it up in one sentence everyone is offended by everything these days one declaring they are offended by something we have talked about for many years does not by itself qualify something as offensive All right just because someone says they're offended by something does not mean it is offensive so I would advise the social justice warriors to chill the f.
