Welcome to a special split edition of today from rio and new york on a wednesday morning. Let me say thanks to the folks behind us because it is windy, wet and nasty here in rio this morning. Have been so many gold medals won in day four. Seven medals, four gold led by u. S. Women. We had so much fun with them after we caught up with them after a big win. That interview just ahead. Shortly after the final five grabbed gold i had a chance to talk to simone aly raisman, gabby douglas, Laurie Hernandez. This time we had Something Big to celebrate. What does it feel like to have the gold hanging around your neck . I mean, it feels pretty heavy. We are very excited. It doesnt really feel real. We worked so hard. I had someone ask me if we favorite to win. It is the exact opposite. If anything we push ourselves more. 15. 8. You guys didnt just win, you won huge. Not even big. What did it feel like when you knew at that point you guys had won . What was that moment like for you . I felt relieved but very excited because laurie went up first and totally rocked it and then aly. Wow. And then it was my turn to just finish it off. I was very proud of the whole team. Making history is something so special and to have this unique bond with all of these girls and to represent usa as best as we could just feels amazing. You made history, baby. It will be crazy. A lot of attention. A lot of press. We always say the best competition to win is Team Competition because we get to celebrate together. When we get home we are doing a 36city tour and travel the around little girls who look up to us. We were just like them. We were little. I remember like going to one of the tours and watching these two. They are so cute. I had the chance to sit with some of their parents. In the 8 00 hour we will get their reaction. One thing is really clear, the aquatics stadium has been really good for team usa. It certainly has. Conor dwyer won bronze in mondays 200 meter freestyle and haas were part of the relay.
