Officers started chasing them and during that chase a 23 year old man who was armed and would not drop his weapon when he was asked. Shortly after, large crowds turned to the streets to protest the shooting. Some people threw things at police cars leaving one officer hospitalized watch a brick hit him in the head. Protesters also started setting buildings on fire. Able to escape. Police believe the suspect was wielding a handgun that was stolen in a burglary in march. As it turned it, the gun was a stolen gun.
