Locally, little bit on the humid side. And a small rain chance right along the coast at 7 00 a. M. By lunchtime, 20 rain chances and we go up to 40 chances later in the day. And yesterday there was a big vote by the Public Transportation commission here in Hillsborough County to determine new rules and regulations with Ride Sharing Companies. There were proposals to have a seven minute wait time, and a 7 minimum fare but in the end, the commission only voted for fingerprint background checking for drivers. Whats your reaction to that fingerprinting background rule. Because we really cant keep anyone safe but we can give them the idea that theyre safe. Yes, thats what the fingerprinting does but ultimately, it doesnt prove that anyone is anymore safer because there are many people that have committed many crimes for the first time as first time offenders. What i think that it does is for those who have been rehabilitated, have gotten their life them a different look and it takes away from those people that are currently driving that are currently using uber to feed their families and care for them, and now its having them to take away from those people that are now driving people around safely. Reporter do you think that people that do have things on the background, various charges, do you think they should be driving people around in the county . Or do you think we should give them Second Chances . If there has been enough time that has passed and they have rehabilitated themselves and they have shown, i think should be on a case by case basis and shown they were a driver or ride share driver for that matter, that they have rehabilitated themselves and they are able to drive these different people in the safely.
