About a man shouting and waiving a gun around at the windswood oaks apartments. When they arrived, they did see the man that has been identified as a 27yearold. They tried talking to him through the pa system on the cruisers as they tried to deescalate the situation. He had dialogue with him that was very aggressive and confrontational. They kept asking him to drop the gun. He refused to and pointed it directly at them and advanced in their direction at this which time they were in fear of their lives and fired to stake him into custody. Reporter to take him into custody. Reporter and we are told that he did live in this apartment complex. She was shot several times but the deputies. He has been taken to the hospital but we do not know his condition at this time. And we should note that no deputies were injured during this situation. Candace all right, josh, thank you very much. He faces multiple charges including aggravated battery on a Law Enforcement officer, fleeing and possession of drug paraphernalia. They are investigating the case as a dui. Law enforcement is looking for a middleaged man driving a car that approached a young girl as she walked home from school. News channel 8s Lindsey Mastis is following this story for us center. Lindsey, what exactly happened . Reporter well, gayle, this is very scary, especially for parents and kids. The polk county sheriff tells us an 11yearold girl got off the bus and started walking home when a car pulled up and her to get in the car with him. He told her, your mom is in the hospital and she sent us to get you. Luckily, the girl ran away. This happened around 4 00 in the afternoon. The girl got off the bus at Thousand Oaks boulevard and the car approached her as she walked along the Ronald Reagan parkway. The car is a 2000 model white fourdoor, tinted windows, black rims and a black back bumper. The man is in his late 40s to 50s, short hair, salt and pepper goatee, sun burned or has a red complexion. He was wearing a dark green shirt with orange lettering on the front of it. When the girl started running away, the car made a uturn and left. The girl ran home and told her mother who contacted Law Enforcement. This is a good time to have the discussion about what to do if Something Like this happens to them. Youre right.
