It comes after the explosion in manhattan that injured 29 people on saturday night and another device went off at a marine corps race in new jersey earlier that day. That backpack was found near a transit station. It contained five devices. The mayor of elizabeth said one of the five devices exploded while a bomb squad robot was trying to disarm it. The robots that were going in to disarm it cut a wire and technology of that. I know theres other devices, i dont know what theyre made up of but they have been removed. All of the fragments have to be picked up so the fbi can investigate. Reporter Transit Service in and out of that area right now suspended. Senior Law Enforcement officials tell nbc news the device appeared similar to a device that exploded saturday morning video of the bomb exploding saturday night. The fbi questioned five men in interest. So far no one has been charged. 1,000 state police have been sent to increase security at airports, bus terminals and subways.
