And we are onscene of a bus crash and a large suv, a gmc yukon. Both vehicles have frontend damage on them. And what i can tell you right now, there were 31 students onboard, five were transported to local hospitals without serious injuries. They did take all the students off the bus and they were over here, looks like some of their parents are picking them up at this time. Little bit southbound on u. S. 301. They are diverting that around the accident here, around this service station. Again, we are at u. S. 310 just north of big bend road where theres been a bus crash but no serious injuries. Thats the good thing to report. Absolutely. Reporter up in eagle 8 hd. All right, michael, we appreciate that. These students were from summerfield crossing Elementary School but the best news, no serious injury, five kids transported to the hospital and looks like parents starting to pick up the remaining students onboard that bus. Here is storm team 8 meteorologist Julie Phillips. Thats right. The next 48 hours or so. Friday morning, thats the time where we could see the potential to see strong storms roll through the bay area. And we will see pockets of heavy rain within the storm, some frequent lightning. The hail threat will be low within the storms although theres a decent threat we could see isolated strong to severe wind gusts and we cant rule out an isolated tornado friday morning just as we watch the area of low pressure move onshore. Thats a threat we watch closely right now, just dealing with the cloud cover. The mostly cloudy skies. These will stay with us through the overnight hours. And low pressure just starting to develop off the coast of mexico and this is going to move east into friday morning, it will be right at our doorstep. Temperatures today due to extra cloud cover, still below average. Its 59 in odessa. And temperatures across the board really not making it up extra cloud cover around, little to no sunshine today. Its 62 in bartow. And now for the rest of the even, temperatures falling back quickly into the low 50s. And as we head into the overnight hour, the extra cloud cover will keep us from dropping into the 40s. Most of us near 50 degrees. We are live at the school bus cast crash in riverview. Bus crash in riverview. Reporter good afternoon. Traffic is back open on this road. This is u. S. 301, after this School Bus Crash involving a Hillsboro School bus driver and another vehicle. Lets go to some video that we shot earlier from eagle 8 hd. On this bus. There were several injury, several of those students were scene. We were told by School District officials that there were no serious injuries. Investigation. I spoke with several parents. And several witnesses who were here at the scene when they saw this all unfold. Parents got Text Messages and calls, h at work, rushed up here scared as anything finding out that their children had been in a School Bus Crash. Again, we spoke with several people here on the scene. Again, this crash is under investigation. That school bus right now has been towed. Road. It sits a couple hundred feet behind us. Theyre still looking at the school bus. We were told that the woman who was in that vehicle who crashed with the bus, she was taken to the hospital. This according to a witness. Looks like a bystander who had just pulled up on the cellphone, taking a look at the suv that crashed into the school bus, these five students were taken to the hospital in this crash after the crash occurred. And now this is happening at u. S. 301. Since the accident, about 3 00, both the bus and the suv have been removed from the scene. And the best news is, no serious injuries. The crash is still under investigation. And the bus has been towed to the side of the road and one lane of traffic is now able to get by to ease traffic congestion. Kind of a dry stretch so far this week but rain and storms back into the forecast to end the week. Along with that cold, frigid air. Yes, along with the cold air, just gets a little bit warmer but not necessarily nice because we are looking at decent Storm Chances moving in. A developing area of low pressure thats going to arrive late thursday night into early friday morning. And Storm Chances go up with this significantly. And we could see a few strong to severe storms friday morning as well. So we want to give you a heads up to Pay Attention friday morning to the weather. Now were tracking another area of low pressure that could potentially move across the tampa bay area as well. Sunday. And were looking at cooler for tomorrow though, fairly quiet during the day. Most of the day we will stay dry. Mostly cloudy in the mornings, light jacket weather in the low 50s and afternoon hours, topping out in the upper 60s. So only a little bit warmer than we were today. It will be cloudy and mostly dry for the afternoon hours. Into the evening and the overnight hour, we could start to see some sprinkles and showers. Currently no rain in place across the tampa bay area. Just cloudy skies, some showers in south florida. But these staying away from us. The area that were watching develop is well to the west in the western gulf. And this area of low pressure will move into our area friday and bringing up the Storm Chances. So our forecast model does a good job of showing you this. Cool for this even, mostly cloudy skies through the overnight hour, not quite as cold tonight, near 50 degrees, typical january temperatures for us. And as we head into thursday afternoon, the winds shift more southeast. And now this does help us to warm up a bit. To be cloudy all day so this is the only reason that were making it back up into the mid to upper 60s. And by the evening hour, we could start to see a few sprinkles or a few light showers south.
