Killed. We just talked to the special agent in charge. A robbery happened in the area in the wee hours of the morning. On his way home, a deputy stopped here where he believes the robbery suspects may be. When he got here, he called for backup. The car sped off and hit the telephone pole. You can see in the video, four deputies fired weapons and a man considered a suspect was shot and killed. The woman was with him was not. None of the four sheriffs deputies were injured and all four of them now, are on administrative leave. Again, the shooting victim is considered a suspect and that is all we know right now. Dci is here handling the investigation and the coroner is also here. Now, again, we dont know if the suspect fired shots. We just know that the deputies fired shots and the woman who was with him in the car is considered a witness. Shes currently at the Ashtabula County sheriffs office. The fire officials in that community said is that two dogs were killed in the counterfire at a streetsboro camp ground. Firefighters were able to get a handle on the blaze quickly quickly and there were no injuries reported other than the two dogs killed. And menner police are searching for a group of thieves who could be connected to a large ring of smashand grab. This is the scene on munson road. Men or the lake, police say. Store. Once inside, thieves took the atm machine, got away in a second vehicle. The police say the van the thieves used from a smash was stolen from a nearby apartment complex. And new at the noon hour, cleveland schools are back in session, but the district teachers are threatening to strike in two weeks. Contract negotiations between the union and cms started november of last year. In a statement released, Union President david kolky hopes the School District and mayor use the issue. He said, quote, all throughout the process, ctu fought for a contract that is good for kids and fair for educators. We wont take a contract back to the membership that doesnt meet the standard. Meanwhile, the School District calls the Union Decision unfortunate and said that theyre making preparations to minimize the impact this has on the 39,000 students.
