How do you do a good evening welcome to both of us with one radio birdlet 86650 Jimbo 186-650-5466 saw the line by there's a symbol and a Job dot com You can follow me on Twitter at Jim Botox and we're continuing our discussion with Mikey job Marshall the record appraisal expert at Body Music dot com who put up the list of 10 records where little things make a big difference of value will look go over that list again for you out there but 1st let us take and some calls here such as Roy who calls them from Washington d.c. Hello Roy. Good evening so glad to hear my Jon I have a question about one particular record and a couple of general questions if I could have that much time well get the particular record Elvis Mystery Train on liable 45. Not in great condition so somewhere and their original owner's name Gilbert is written on the label. Go by Gilbert and beat him up yeah. Yeah whether it's a $78.00 or $45.00 on the sun label mint copy would be up with $1000.00 so basically use a scale of $1.00 to $10.00 to judge the particular value of your record based on the condition that you see. A 5 would be $500.00 Yep yep. I'm an old geezer in the early fifties I was entering your high school and busting the rhythm of blues music and had records and at that time records were being published by 70 eight's and 40 five's because they were in transition and I have some of the. Records from that time plus others I've acquired. Are 70 eight's worth more than $45.00 generally or less I would say generally the ones that came out both as a $45.00 and as a $78.00 the same record and generally the 40 five's are worth more drilling. I thought maybe but now very an awful lot better very an awful lot depending on the artist and the song right you can even find some really valuable 70 eight's and you can find some 40 five's of worth diddly Yeah and then devotedly. $45.00 probably have better sound but the 70 eight's have a lower survival rate because they broke so easily. Worth more well there you know that's there's the exceptions to the rule but I'm generally you know it's just a general statement I would say the 40 five's is worth more. Very good I did we get everything that you were calling it about there were. Just one more general questions here we're watching the can burns. Program always on public to country music right I've seen it gets great yeah it's great and I just wondered if I had some old 70 eight's of country music and I just wondered if you think that program is going to influence the value of those records. Well I don't know but I mean I watched 2 and Hank Williams of course was such a big part of it his early 70 eight's on the Sterling label can sell up to $1500.00 so. Whether that will create more listeners more collectors I don't know but you never know you. Ever think we're going to have some Jimmie Rodgers well that day well I'm sorry I already hit the button there. But bye bye bye bad there the thank you very much of this is Joe did Canton Ohio hello Judd how are you by it but. A 45. Helter Skelter record and I don't have it right if I mean I could buy it Yuri Melich couple years ago and I've packed away and I bet I would have looked for a value on that well it's not a biggie. So I was a good news for evil the picture sleeve it's not going to be worth much more than $25.00 Ok I know one of the most valuable records Ok I didn't know there were. Something special about maybe some of the print that they put out every day no you don't Ok Ok I don't like you you bad Joe thank you very much not driving through the Springfield Missouri area tonight and listening to News Talk $560.00 k w t o would be Troy Hello Troy. Yes I have a not a record but I had a boss holds a poster that was a placard on I doubtless transit system boss with the Beatles who were scheduled to appear or did appear in Nike 63 shortly after November 22nd at 9630 mine is history collide as this is my as this was from my uncle worked for the Dallas. Transit System. There's a photograph of J.F.K.'s limousine on that fateful day passing right by this placard that I now have and I actually can have case looking at it so he didn't get in an adoption for the Beatles before he died this was just a couple of minutes before the limo interview we posit is there any value to this thing. I well I don't know but I'm trying to think because the 1st time the Beatles came to the States was in February of 1964 Yeah I was 64 it wasn't all of them but it was it was Rinko and I don't know if Pete Best was involved but it's a black or a placard that says the Beatles well they were you know I was for it well you know I don't know I can't give it value for but if it's an original then I would think would be worth some some good money but that's not my field and on the record collector Yeah he did and the Beatles 1st appeared in February of 64 to 1st hit came out in 63 she loves you and Wes exactly all I had to Ursula and Quincy Illinois next and the higher Cilla. When I was in the Navy I was part of my duty was at Barbers Point in Hawaii and we would go downtown and listen to a group called Live payments Orient Express. I have an LP I got a graph by the whole group because it was my birthday while I was in the service Oh . Well we mentioned earlier that you know an autograph on a record can actually hurt the value of it you know so. That's not good for a record collector you know I'm not sure is there a it's there enough of a following you suppose for the Orient Express that there might be something out there on Google. 1900 yesterday I know when I came back yesterday they were still playing that song yeah yeah yeah no I it wouldn't be even with the autograph Unfortunately it's not a big you had a 4th a yeah but Frey they just weren't that big regrettably 186650 Jimbo of Doug this is Beth in Bristol Wisconsin Hello Beth Good evening Carolyn it's good to have you with us tonight Beth whatsoever by I'm glad to hear your voice again tonight Shambala the look thank you to the last day after I heard from Eli you had a replacement Well you were never home when I came by but I go ahead. McCartney for sure obviously a great place that he's no history but this is a good resting place of the Beatles by themselves here tonight I'm on the the list of 10 records for little things make a big difference in value as compiled by a record appraisal expert mighty John Marshall of money Music dot com This was number one it's the 966 capital LP of the main the main label for the Beatles yesterday and today what is the the distinction here the difference well if you have a copy it on the cover it shows the Beatles standing or sitting around a steamer trunk up to about $125.00 but if you can stand to chose the Beatles dressed as what yours original stereo copies are up to $15000.00 Ok I'll bite why. Well again you know it shows the Beatles dresses butchers holding up chopped up rubber dolls and Rob beat. The record the public decided Akon $66.00 that's very offensive that so the record label didn't want to tick off the public so he said Ok we'll put another picture of the Beatles on the cover more innocent looking it was Lennon's idea to put the picture on there because he felt the record company was but Ewing their music Whoa yeah yeah it certainly hurt his career Ok yeah 106650 Jimbo we go to Donna who is the traveling to Philadelphia tonight and Donna thank you for joining us this evening. Well thank you. I have a beadle of the new intraday thing the Beatles thing on number one vocal group for the swearing in meticulous where if you have it right in front of you yeah Ok. You want to look on the back cover does it list the titles of the songs or doesn't and pictures of 25 other record albums introducing the Beatles unannounced 2 columns the phone Ok Now can you look at the record label not the cover but the label Yeah yeah the words The Beatles is it printed above the whole of the load to hold in the middle of the record above the hole in the middle so both introducing the Beatles and The Beatles is about the whole yes Ok well the next original kind of hits would have the Beatles below the hole Now having said that. That versions up around $350.00 if you had the one with the record pictures of the other $25.00 records on the back cover then it would up around 8000 dollars 00 dollars until you go but hey the 350 is not chopped liver you know that's right that's right Donna thank you for your listenership and we appreciate that very much and again if anybody out there has a record you're curious about a you can go to Money Music dot com And do you get the appraisal figure depending of course on whether or not it's a pretty good condition price will go down if it's not and then John can provide lists of record buyers in your particular area collectors This is a shame in the Horsham Pennsylvania hello shade. Oh hello what's on your side. Ok. My mistake Go ahead Jay and. It's understood I got well I am a $45.00 like George the Harris and the song is somewhere beyond the say yeah George George Harris for those who don't know was an actor back in the year and not God I don't think Jon primarily known as a singer was a. No but he was on what with 660 Yeah exactly yeah and because of his appearance on t.v. There's a well it's a saving cell record they didn't do a lot of but t.v. Artist back and. It's not a big collectible no more than $20.00 to a record collector to somebody to collect movie star member Gary or t.v. Stars it may be a different value but to a record collector no more than 20 dollars there you go All right appreciate it Jay I thank you very much you bet thanks for your call this is Rob in Minneapolis Good evening Oh Rob Rob Yes Yes You're on the radio go right ahead Hi I got a hold of. It the best that muddy water liner notes are done by. You know Rolling Stone and want to make love to you and all that and is it on. Is it on Chess Records on LP $1427.00 yeah it's up to about $100.00 that. Go with them one here's another little nugget for you you're absolutely way in 165 when I was in my 1st band we made a funny little record and wound up being on ready to record on a national man stand there American Bandstand American Bandstand the club. And we were up against Nancy Sinatra These Boots are Made for Walking and we didn't like either one of them but anyway that one on e Bay about 2 years ago was it was a funny little record really sold you know $10000.00 or so and it was but on e Bay It was $137.00 so you never know but what you have a record with. What's the record what's the base called Do you buy that your boys the poor boy says yeah with a you know on the end of yes you will be old white. It was a record label. It was city to city area. Capital it was up to uptown little inn or. Yeah. I am not familiar with the particular record but I get to meet with those subsidies every labels $10000.00 copies not so $137.00 Time $10000.00 while you should hold on yeah I really. Think that i Pad by one man we spoke in Minneapolis we were big Minneapolis Yannick I would go over good Philadelphia New Jersey admitted that would. Get. Billboard and that was a minute. But you know what That's great yeah that it's been a bad stand it's a great memory right there we thank you for sharing head that's pretty cool Ok from Robin in Minneapolis to Bob in Naples Florida next with Mikey John Marshall of the Beau had a Joe hello Rob welcome Bob. Mr Mohanna Mr Marshall it's great to talk to you sir if you most certainly enjoyed the program on Mr Marshall comes on to create interesting observations if I may I'd like to when I was a kid we went to a radio station back in the Boston area and they used to play 16 inch platters yet Now this is really kind of interesting because back in those days the easy listening stations would play those which is why many many turntables back in those days had 16334578 so I wanted to ask Mr Marshall if there is a. Sort of a collector from this 16 is platters That's my 1st question and the 2nd question would be many years back also we used to go to some great record listening parties with a very dear friend of mine who own hundreds and as a collector of 1st Press records I'd like to ask Mr Marshall to sort of explain all that I know it's a sort of a burial how head off the line and lucky for your comments Gentlemen thank you again All right thank you very much Bob what about that Joe I certainly remember the 16 inch records most of them at the time we used for commercials but they did have some with music I don't know of any particularly that are worth money because a particular recording artist or just because they're 16 inch record there. And was out of question and is going hi I'm sorry but my month he's gone I think he's gone to I will I think that the 1st pressing the records. If you mean promo copies or advance pressings It all depends on the collectability of the recording artist. So that's the best there Thanksgiving Yeah there you go All right Beth and Bristol Wisconsin Hello Beth. Since our last 2 guys I waited so long well with but you got on it's worth the way lucky you it is really trust me. And they were the Runaways we and I have that record I bought it and a head shop for like a $1.99. In the seventy's and then like to tell you again comments on that and then my 2nd question.
