So out of that 2. 6 million, thats 1,400 individuals that are really driving most of gun violence in the city. Reporter less than two months later, according to the chicago pd, the number is now a staggering 6,000 guns. We recover more guns than l. A. And new york combined. Reporter Chicago Police are trying a new approach. By focusing their efforts on 1,400 people they say have prior chicagos strategic subject list. We say, hey, you want to change your lifestyle, were willing to help you. But if they dont choose to change their lifestyle, well come after them with everything.
