Daughter, his sons, their wives. He actually thanked the other candidates, he thanked the rnc, but once he got into his speech, it was all about making America Great again. Ed mr. Trump we are going to make America Great again, but we re going to beat it at trade, were going to beat china and japan and beat all of these countries that are taking so much money of our country. We are going to do something so good and so fast and so strong that the world is going to respect us again. Believe me [applause] phil so again, a decisive, big, yuge, as he would he takes of momentum down south and it begins tomorrow. On 20 point lead. Maria Reid Lamberty headquarters. And and, with his victory tonight, he says that New Hampshire s voters have launched the excitement that this country needs. This , in sanders s word, is a country for all people, not just the wealthy. He has a doubledigit lead and he left with a doubledigit victory, a staggering number, considering just nine months ago, he was 40 points behind Hillary Clinton with little to no campaign money. Workers efforts, which he said helped them get forward. Mr. Sanders together we have sent them a message that will echo from a wall street to california, and that is that our great country belongs to all of the people and not just a handful of wealthy Campaign Contributors and their superpacs. So want to South Carolina, but not before a stop to meet with the reverend al sharpton as burning bernie looks to support the africanamerican vote. Ed and let s go to janet who is janet you don t hear much behind me, this is a very quiet hall. Hillary clinton stuck around for about a half an hour to thank her very ardent supporters, but they did not stick around very long. She said she understands voter anger, she says it she understands she has to do a better job of attracting young people. She also acknowledged that the wall street issue is a problem with her campaign, but she also emphatically called herself a change maker. With her husband campaigning with her appear, she with her up here, she has been saying this the whole time. Ms. Clinton not supporting mean now, i support them, because i know i know, i have had a blessed life, but i also know what it is like to stumble and fall. So many people across america know that feeling and we have learned it is not whether you get knocked down that matters, it is whether you get backed up janet Hillary Clinton and her family are departing New Hampshire tonight to new york to regroup and to dive back into it because she is going to head into wisconsin on thursday for a facetoface with Bernie Sanders. After that she will head to north carolina, which is of course a big battleground state. Ed let s take a look at the numbers right now. Right now, bernie has 57 of the vote in a 20 percentage point maria let s look at the republican numbers right now, and yes, donald trump has 35 . John kasich is a strong second there with jeb bush and ted cruz falling behind. And john kasich, that is where mary has been live all night long. This is a big victory. Never too is a big deal. Everybody has been looking at that number, mary number two is a big deal. Everybody has been looking at that number, mary. Mary most people would not be happy that they got number two, but here, they have treated that like a victory speech. He has covered over 100 town Hall Meetings and he he says he has learned a lot about new mr. Kasich maybe, just maybe, in a time when change is clearly in the air, maybe, just maybe, we are turning the page on a dark part of american politics, because tonight, the light overcame the darkness and the negative campaigning. [applause] mary alright, so john kasich needed second place, but where does he go from here . Let s not forget that senator lindsey graham, who has dropped out of this race, has put his support behind jeb bush. He says that john kasich is to moderate for the republican party. It will be a tough road to super tuesday. Let s see if he can do it. But for tonight, he was a winner of sorts. Maria all right, thank you, mary. Ed and let s head over to for us, heather, was at stake tonight . What was at stake tonight . Heather that is a good question, and what do you think the headline should be . Clearly, the two winners had the High Expectations and they fulfilled. John kasich got a win that he wasn t expecting on getting and i don t think the republicans have a whole other clarity. Heather let s talk about clinton and sanders now. Next saturday we got north carolina. This is a test. Can bernie expand this to nonwhite voters and workingclass voters . He did pretty well in the bluecollar communities of New Hampshire, so maybe there is a little hope for him. He just raised 20 million on hillary has to wear South Carolina or it will be a fullblown crisis. Hea ther pat, let s talk about the gop side. Patrick on the gop side heather sorry patrick i can t remember victories like this, but more importantly, i think donald trump is going to sell himself as the party s front runner. He is going to make a case that these promises he can be making can be backed up with policy heather delly policy. Look, i have not been a real fan of donald trump s from day one, but at the end of the day, he has run a very strong campaign. As far as john kasich, i don t know, he also ran a Great Campaign here in New Hampshire. Race, but the question is, what does he do it South Carolina. What can he do in South Carolina . It is not the New Hampshire go before he gets to the super tuesday plate. It is hard to say. Heather i bet they will hit the ground running tomorrow. Ed and this is a first win for Bernie Sanders and a first win for donald trump. Maria let s go to j. C. Monahan who has been it ted cruz headquarters. It almost felt muted tonight . J. C. that went along with the crowd and it was a pretty small crowd of support. Frankly, this banquet hall wasn t even that big, it was not even half full. They are taking down the stage when ted cruz did take the stage to address his supporters, he of course congratulated donald trump and john kasich, but his place at third is a result that people said was impossible. Mr. Cruz but the real winner, the real winner is the conservative grassroots. [applause] mr. Cruz who propelled us to an outright victory in iowa at a far stronger result and outcome in New Hampshire than anyone had predicted. [applause] j. C. he went on to say to win, it is going to be standing against amnesty, standing against obamacare, and that he went on against obama i saying that he was about life, liberty, and marriage, and he said he would always defend the that got the biggest applause here tonight in this room. He finished by saying his victory tonight, a tie again, has the Washington Cartel utterly terrified. Those were his final words before saying he is on to South Carolina where it will undoubtedly be a much friendlier territory for ted cruz and his campaign. Maria that s exactly what we were saying, whatever the carolina. Ed i am very different to hear headquarters. Governor brush brought gove rnor bush brought his mother in. He certainly brought in every resource he had, but he made it campaign is not dead. Behind me now, you can see that they are packing things up at this point. He said that he is basically in a tie for third, he is just one percentage point behind ted cruz. As the winner of the New Hampshire primary, donald trump was addressing his supporters, and here, jeb bush addressed his supporters. He spoke for about 8. 5 minutes, and it did not so much a concession speech, but a stump speech for the next state. He said his campaign is not dead. Karen mr. Bush the pundits had it all figured out last week when they said that the race was now a threeperson race between two freshmen senators and a reality tv star. And while the reality tv star is still doing well, it looks like you all have reset the race, and for that i am really grateful. One of bush s surrogates told campaign has the resources to keep going. Which will be in South Carolina tomorrow for a rally down there. Reporting live from the bush campaign. Ed and he is going to South Carolina needing to finish one or two in that state maria state. It all whittle down. Now we are talking with jack at the Chris Christie campaign. Chris christie is heading to new jersey which speaks volumes. Jack they are still playing the music here, but the party has long since been over. In fact, it never was a party. There was always a sense from the time that the polls closed, it wasn t going well, it probably wasn t thought he was going to be this bad, but it was a weight with music here for much of the night. When Chris Christie spoke, he made it clear that this could be the end. Mr. Christie we will go home to will make a decision on our next step forward based upon the results that were completed here in New Hampshire. But on behalf of mary pat and andrew and sarah and patrick and bridget, we want to think all of you for your friendship, for your support, for your love, for your confidence, and for your encouragement. Jack governor christie never said, like many of the others, we will see you in november or we will be back, instead, he goes home to new jersey and may think about the next step. At the Chris Christie headquarters, i am jack harper. Maria all right, jack, thank you. Ed and now to marco rubio. That is where john atwater is. Marco rubio said, you know what . I screwed up over the weekend. John what a difference a day can make. The top tier of candidates here. He ended up finishing in the middle. In the last few days, he really defended his performance on saturday. On that saturday, he delivered his same attack line almost verbatim four different times. Tonight he took response ability for that. Mr. Rubio i want you to understand something. Our disappointment tonight is not on you, it is on me. It is on me. I did not i did not do well on saturday night, so listen to this that will never happen again john i ve got to tell you, though, the crowd was very energetic, and of course, marco rubio was hoping to take that carolina. It is not very clear that he can will be back here in new ed and long lines lead to angry voters in New Hampshire. Some polls were kept open later to let everyone vote. Maria not everybody is happy with how this whole thing has been handled. s Caryn Anderson was on top of the problems there. She is live in merrimack, new karen . Karen here in merrimack, it was voters trying to get to this one location. For anyone able to get there, there were no lines, but outside, draft a gridlock, a snarled mess, with voters stuck in their cars for more than one hour, trying to travel just a couple of miles to get to Merrimack High School to vote. I am still frustrated. I don t think it was my fault that i wasn t able to vote karen frustration because of so many say they try to come during the day, what they hit gridlock and came back later, that they still got stalled again. We flew down here and they are not letting us know. I am pretty upset. We have the right to vote. Karen the polls were closed at 7 00, but seeing the mess outside, the moderators got permission to actually extend the hours as long as she deemed it appropriate. These voters are the news and decided to come back and try again, but by the time they made it back at around 8 15, they found themselves locked out. We brought them into the gymnasium, but they were shut down again. The problem, according to the town moderator, is a new traffic route, and according to voters, all 18,000 registered voters were forced to come to just one location. This year that week we did was wrong. It didn t work. It was terrible. The matter what we did during the day, we try to fix it. And i hate to have everyone feel like they weren t able to vote. Karen other than that, no major problems reported. We should get a solid number tomorrow on this expected record photo turnout. Live in merrimack, New Hampshire, karen anderson. Maria and karen, that record voter turnout led to headlines like this. That is the daily news right there and you can read it yourself. I am not sure if the voters of New Hampshire should be called that, what they certainly did turn out in droves. Ed read the bottom line there. That is right. And on saturday, february 20th, that is what the democrats will caucus in nevada, and the republicans will have a primary in South Carolina. And then on tuesday, if it were a 23rd, there is the democratic maria a nice day today to go out to vote if you lived in New Hampshire. Ed yes, let s head over to harvey. Harvey yes, you did an awesome job, and i got to tell you, it is really cold out in New Hampshire. Boston only got up to 29 today. There was an amazingly warm start. We were a degrees above normal. But this weekend, it is going to have a lot to say and take a huge bite out of that surplus from the temperature department. Some wicked cold is going to be arriving by then. 23 in boston. No wind at all. The skies and clear. That is a lot of temperatures to drop that has allowed the temperatures to drop. In nashua, 14, in bedford, 19. Yes, very cold. As they mentioned, the clouds are going to come in, and there jersey and another one near connecticut. There is a bundle of energy right here, and that is probably going to spell a good chance that many of us could see a few snow s walls tomorrow snow squalls tomorrow. Instead of snow flurries, it could come down very hard, visibility could be diminished, and this could impact part of your commute, especially the central and western areas. More may pop up around lunchtime or into the afternoon here or in eastern massachusetts for they tend to fly off shore over the guess what . We may have a few more of them coming up again on thursday. Here is another look at those snow showers for tomorrow. We have some scattered about on thursday as well. Than tomorrow. Friday will be cold as well. See this rehearing nantucket . See this right here in this may make a coating of an inch in some spots, that on saturday, saturday night, sunday, sunday night, and early monday, there will be ferocious and in tents cold. Intense cold. When we get into the weekend, and our air is going to be pulled way down from the northern latitudes, and that is bitter, cold air. We could be talking about dropping to zero below dropping 27 below zero. We may be near record cold, early sunday morning. And then look what happens. It doesn t recover that much on monday. There you are on friday making it into the upper 20 s. I just want to show you one more time. We will have to keep an eye out on friday night and into saturday. We cannot miss this bitter cold. No question that that is coming this weekend. We might briefly be up near 20 on saturday, and then temperatures just fall like a rock. In the north and the west and even in boston, that will happen over night. Look at the windchill. Dangerous cold as we get to the late saturday, saturday night, and sunday timeframe. By the way, it looks like that cold will begin to ease by early next week. If it doesn t ease, i don t know why this is not moving anymore, there we go, but how much this is his is important how much this eases is important, because that could decide on what were going into for the next week. But it is going to be intensely cold this weekend. Maria and ed . Ed we have breaking news on a maria what a night in New Hampshire and for that man right there. Bernie sanders is dominating. Right now, 70 77 of the voting. Ed and virtually the same sized victory for donald trump, 35 to 17 over john kasich. This is the first time for maria let s take a quick look at the republican numbers right now and how they shape up. Donald trump is 35 of the vote. John kasich is at number two at 17 . Ted cruz and jeb bush were battling for third place. It looks like ted cruz took it. Marco rubio had 11 . Chris christie is going home to new jersey tonight waiting for the final results and then Carly Fiorina and ben carson is at the bottom two. Ed and we are following breaking news where up flight was diverted from Denver International and poor tonight, Alaska Airlines flight 769. It was on its way to san diego when there was a report of a possible passenger disturbance onboard the aircraft. We are now being told that there were no arrests and that it is being considered a Customer Service incident. Maria and a brockton boy who fell through the ice about a 12yearold Charles C J Thompson was headed out to play football with his friends when he and a nineyearold boy decided to walk across the pond. Both boys fell through the ice. Their friends raced to find help. They were knocking on doors and flagging down motorists. I told people that my two friends were drowning and they couldn t really hear me because i was crying. Maria that s so sad. Brockton firefighters pulled cj out before they found pulled cj out but he had been under for several minutes before they found him. His family released a statement thanking the community for the outpouring of support. And a grim warning for from america s intelligence community, expect isis to try to attack the u. S. This year. The director of the Defense Intelligence agency says the likely to attempt erect attacks on our soil. He also says isis is sneaking its own people out of iraq and syria by hiding them within groups of refugees. Ed passengers on sn alitalia flight into london got the right of their lives today. Watch as the airliner en route from the lawn, italy, carefully approach the runway, but cannot touchdown. Strong winds kicked up and forced the plane back into the air. The pilot pulled up, circled a few times, and finally set down safely. Maria and here is what boston s dwp d pw picked up off of the cheers, try cycles, luggage, and other items used by residents to save shall doubt parking spaces. Mayor marty walsh announced that maria welcome back, everybody. You are watching new center 5 s special coverage of the New Hampshire primary. Ed and New Hampshire was a pretty hot place to be tonight. Phil it was hot in temperature as well. Donald trump came into New Hampshire with a sort of disappointing secondplace lead in iowa. He kept a lead and got a decisive victory tonight. He did well with republicans and centrist. There were about 300 supporters down there on the floor who came out there after Bernie Sanders and after Hillary Clinton spoke. He almost sounded like a diplomatic politician. He actually thanked of the other candidates. He thanked the rnc even and then he got his familiar talking points. Mr. Trump you know, when i came out, i heard the end of ernie s end of bernie s speech. No . No . Know you don t like it, but he deserves congratulations. He wants to give away our let it happen. We are going to make America Great again. Phil all right, so take a look at the floor. This is where about 300 or 400 supporters were. There was probably as many media folks appear on the risers. Donald trump will now focus on South Carolina. He will now take his campaign and his ground game that he talked about tonight. He learned a lot from this ground game that he talked about in the last week, he is going to take that ground game, that momentum, that trademark confidence, and he is going to make South Carolina voters trump of voters. We will see what happens there. Ed well, donald trump has decided one very happy Victory Party tonight. Maria and to the other very happy Victory Party tonight with reid yes, the campaign is effectively now and over, so we are effectively the last tv crew here to read crew here. This is jeff weaver who is Bernie Sanders s campaign manager. Think you so much for being here. Tell us about what Bernie Sanders was talking here. This campaign nine months ago was unelectable, there was no organization, no money, and now you are taking life from this, from what he called the greatest Political Party in the country. Right, right, look, when we started the skipping, we had no party, we had no campaign, we had nothing. Senator sanders has built a winning campaign. We went out to toe with senator clinton, had a virtual tie in iowa, and tonight there was an great momentum and of and nevada. Those states ultimately favor expected to . We have a number of field offices there and dozens and dozens of staff, and we are here. Re going to go and get voters and earn votes and talk about the issues that you want will do. Reid the economy is the issue that the New Hampshire voters were concerned about. For nevada, for instance, it is the state that is the most hardhit from the wall street crash back in 2008, so this issue of a rigged economy held up by a corrupt system of Campaign Finance will really resonate across the country. Reid the Hillary Clinton Campaign Says that Bernie Sanders, the neighboring senator from vermont, is not electable nationally. Does this primary change that, change the minds of the voters
