Freeport police are only saying this is an activity investigation but sources do confirm that someone did steal a freeport Police Cruiser, take it on a joyride but that person take a look at this video. This is how this all ended, with the cruiser crashing into several parked cars in babylon. Polices say no civilians were injured. We believe this started on babylon turnpike in freeport. Sources say the cruiser was stolen after 11 00 last night and the suspect drove it about two miles before crashing. Sources say the car was stolen after 11 00 last night and the suspect drove it for roughly two miles before crashing. And now yesterday Union Leaders left visibly frustrated but new jersey the transit negotiators seemed to be optimistic that theyll reach a deal. Both sides saying they want to do all they can to avoid a strike. New Jersey Transits lead negotiator emerging from talks still determined that the differences between nj transit and the rail unions can be agreed upon. Theyll be resolved. There will be an agreement. Reporter the 11 rail unions have been working without a contract since 2011. Their spokesperson had entered the negotiations cautiously optimistic. Were always hopeful. Thats why were talking. Reporter but hours later he and other Union Leaders stormed out fuming after new Jersey Transit sent them a letter they go through with the strike, all rail positions will be suspended and all workers on sick leave will lose their benefits and all employees will lose their health insurance. It is apparent that new Jersey Transits notice to the Coalition Members represents retaliatory action and harassment of the Coalition Members. About 105,000 commuters rely on transit trains daily and the agencys contingency plan would only accommodate about 40,000 of those riders. Dozens of fdny trucks and Emergency Responders responded just after 8 00 p. M. A man reported he was trapped in the collapse along with other workers at a construction site prompting a search and rescue operation. Authorities later determined that no collapse occurred. The building is set to be demolished. Normal schedule this morning after a pipeline that supplies fuel to the airport ruptured. Police say the 41yearold truck driver from yonkers had a fishing line on the license plate and allegedly pulled the line to hide the plate as he headed towards the toll. But an officer stopped him wednesday night after he noticed the ez pass indicating that the toll had not been paid. The Police Officer found the fishing line and the bent plate bent up the to avoid cameras. New hope for kidney patients on the transplant waiting list. A new procedure could they have found a way to filter harmful antibodies out of the blood that would reject the organ if its not a perfect match. So it wont immediately be rejected and then some kind of magic happens and in most cases, the antibody stays low like that. Sources say no civilians were injured. We believe this started on babylon turnpike near the meadowbrook parkway. Sources say the car was stolen after 11 00 last night and the suspect drove it for about two miles before crashing. This morning, we do not know if the suspect was injured or again how he was able to get behind the wheel. Freeport police are only saying as of now this is an active investigation. A man accused of stabbing a jewish man is under arrest but now the victims mother wants to make sure they caught the right man. Police assured a packed Community Meeting in Crown Heights last night. Commuters on edge this morning as the threat of a new Jersey Transit strike looms larger than ever. With no deal in place, negotiators head back to the bargaining table today. Janelle burrell joins us live with an update. Reporter well, mary that meeting scheduled to get underway at 10 00 this morning in the hotel behind me. And at this point, the only thing that both sides seem to agree on is the fact that nobody wants to see this strike happen. At this point, the strike deadline Still Holding at 12 01 sunday morning. Both sides emerging from the face to face negotiations yesterday. And night giving specifics made. The 11 rail unions have been working without a new contract since 2011. And they are asking for Better Health benefits and a more steady wage increase. Now yesterday new Jersey Transits general manager sent informing that if they do strike, all rail positions will be suspended, all workers on sick leave will lose their benefits and that employees will lose their health insurance. New Jersey TransitOfficials Say they were required by federal law to issue that letter but it infur yated union leers but it infuriated Union Leaders. It is apparent that the notice to the Coalition Members represents retaliatory action and harassment of the Coalition Members. Their desire and our desire, at least as of this moment, is the same. And that is to reach a peaceful, across the table, resolution to to of the collective Bargaining Agreement between the Rail Coalition and new Jersey Transit. Reporter well, new jerseys transits negotiator said he is still hope that will a deal will be hopeful that a deal will be reached. On the new Jersey Transit every day. And the contingency plan only accommodates about 40,000 of those riders. If the strike happens sunday morning, they have plans to gradually take all of the trains off line. Police in brooklyn are searching for the person who shot two teenagers in Crown Heights. Chopper 2 was over the scene on franklin avenue just before 4 00 yesterday afternoon. Police say a 14yearold girl was shot in the calf and an 18 yearold man was shot in the ankle. They were taken to kings county hospital in stable condition. The search is on for a man police say slashed a woman on a brooklyn street. Surveillance video shows the suspect running away. The 53yearold woman says she was talking on the phone when she was slashed on the neck in Prospect Park south yesterday morning. Not want to be identified says the attack came out of nowhere. Just talking to a friend and she was attacked from behind. Somebody with a mask on, bandanna or something, she was cut on the neck, slashed from one end to the other. The victim did not know the suspect. She is expected to be okay. The suspect was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. New information on the driver accused of fatally striking two teens in union city last weekend. Charges against Eric Paterson were upgraded to aggravated manslaughter after prosecutors say he tested positive for pcp. Police say he was driving 74 Miles Per Hour in a 25 Miles Per Hour zone when he jumped the curb, killing two. He also struck a third teen who remains in the hospital in stable condition.
