No rain the roads are clear but this area had quite a bit of flooding and a few accidents reported. Major differences compared to yesterday. Drenching down pours soaking the tristate area well into the night. Ponding turn roads in splash pools like here on raymond road. End then the winds powerful gusts snapping trees like this 50footer crashing onto a home as they ate dinner. All of a sudden it was like the sky falling. Thundering noise. The massive tree leaving a hole in his house. A construction barrier tumbled into the window of a cab smashing the glass, the driver uninjured. And crews work to clean up a smoky scene after live power lines fell onto the wet roadway. Now back live as we continue to make our way north on route 17 here in saddle river. The roads are slick but the rain has stopped. About 15,000 people here in new jersey still without power at this hour this morning. Reporting from mobile 2 in saddle river Janelle Burrell cbs 2 news. Residual problems with the power lines and outages and with some of those debris fields out there. Trust me. Crash everywhere blowing around. Theres still the risk of Severe Weather through parts of rhode island and massachusetts and to the west snow down to parts of tennessee and North Carolina. The possibility of a shower in our forecast even though the west wind should serve to keep dew points low. Numbers will be lower ton the afternoon drive thanafternoon drive than for the morning drive. Then the cold air settles in tonight, big turn around. Pace yourself and leave extra time and space. We are told people were in the house at the time but you can just see the extent of the damage to this home. This is the worst we believe of a little bit of what the worst was here in this neighborhood. We do also have video on nearby New Hampshire road where there were no injuries but there were a couple cars that went on fire after high tension power lines fell down completely destroying the cars below. This was a chevy tahoe and a fort escape. People here on long island without power. No word of tornadoes coming here but this is the scene on New Hampshire road where high tension power lines fell on two cars around midnight. Charges against five teenage boys in brooklyn are set to be dropped after the woman at the center of the case has a different and disturbing story prosecutors now believe the 18 yearold woman was in a brownsville park last month drinking with her father who shes been separated from most of her life. He can finally go back to some normalcy of his life. You can only imagine at 15 the trauma and embarrassment. One man says she was the proper medical attention after being thrown by rocky seas suing Royal Caribbean claiming the captain was neglect when he sailed into a storm. Waves surging over 30 feet sent furniture and passengers dumb baling during a chaotic four day trip earlier this month. We all thought we were going to die. The ship hit a storm that damaged the vessel and made for scary conditions. The ship was shaking so bad but with 180 Miles Per Hour winds and 50foot seas. During the worst of it the captain explaining to the 6,000 passengers wind speeds were higher than forecasted. In 24 hours its moved from this to what you are seeing here. He did tell us in the beginning we were going to go into bad weather but he thought he could get around it. Thats where the lawsuit came in. One man was thrown around the cabin hit his head and fell ub medical help on board. Royal caribbean was neglect in choosing to sale through the storm. Sail through the storm. We spoke to company officials. It should never had happened. We are reviewing everything we did and are looking for improving processes. Investigators released images on the suspect back on february 12 at 1 30 in the afternoon. He broke into the apartment and made off with electronic equipment. Police say this is the man they are looking for in connection with a string of burglaries in queens. He knows the suspect broke into his apartment on sanders avenue because a grocery bag and loot the man is carrying in this Surveillance Video belongs to him. He took two computers, some of my girlfriends cameras and unreplaceable jewelry. They werent home on february 8 when the burglar scaled this fire escape up to the third floor forcing open the bathroom ball window. When i saw everything was chris knows the feeling, among three in an Apartment Building burglarized by this same man. On new years eve afternoon the burglar climbed this fire escape broke in through a kitchen window and took off with his wifes jewelry. We turn around and look at her dresser and it was rummages through. My wife panicked and started freaking out and we realized somebody had been in the house. Police believe the same suspect is responsible for five break ins here in the regal park area and is breaking into most of the apartments during daylight hours. It was definitely very violating. In Rockland County a wrestling coach is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boys and they want to know if there are any other victims. He sexually abused a young teenage boy he met while mentoring kids in a youth program. An 18yearold male suspect had basically lured a young male into sexual acts through social media. We begin with breaking news where a fishing boat has run aground and a rescue effort is under way. Five coast guard members were sent into the water when their vessel over turned. They all made it safely to shore. There were several crew members able to get off the fishing ship but it is still stuck on the mud. Another vessel is on the scene and reports six to eight foot waves complicating the issue. No word of injuries and a crew is on the way bringing you the now to the weather that went through our area.
