Its the latest of six fires since october 20th that police say may have been deliberately set. Including in that investigation, this fire on 112th street and also a home under construction. People nearby say it looked like a massive fire ball. It we want up really quickly and it started to hitting other buildings. So it was horrendous. Like never seen Something Like this in my life. Reporter two other buildings were soon burning as well. Police now working to determine if theyre all connected. Police have now taken over this investigation. New information on a string of fires in queens. Sources tell cbs 2 news a disturbing pattern in and around forest hills may have been deliberately set. Janelle burrell is live in forest hills with more. Reporter well, mary, in two of the cases that police are looking at this morning, the homes were actually under construction including this one here behind us. This actually is now boarded up but it burned down tuesday. Scaring dozens and dozens of residents who live in the area. And police this morning say they believe that six of the fires here in forest hills may be all connected. Cellphone video showing the tower flames shooting from the burning construction site on of 66th avenue in forest hills tuesday, the location where police say they have video of a man going into the building right before the fire erupts, spreading to the home next its the latest of at least six fires across forest hills since october 20th that police say may have been deliberately set. Included in that investigation, this fire on 112th street and also a home under construction. And people who live nearby say it looks like a massive fire ball. It went up really quickly. And in a few minutes, it started in the other buildings. So it was horrendous. Like never seen Something Like in in my life. Officials at the Radisson Blu Hotel in bamako say 10 gunmen fired at guards and stormed the hotel with grenades and took at least 140 guests and 30 employees hostage. And now more breaking news, israel says an american arrested three decades ago for turning over classified information to the jewish state has just been released from prison here in the u. S. 61year old Jonathan Pollard was serving a life sentence in North Carolina but this year he became eligible for parole. Reporter its an espionage case that divided Public Opinion and relations between in the mid1980s, he was a Navy Intelligence analyst who had access to secret documents relating to israel.
