Time now is 7 13. Everyone has most most people have big easter plans today, heading outside. Lets head over to Vanessa Murdock and see what the forecast has in store for all of us. I think if you look outside, right now you might be concerned for rain because its looking bleak. But there is no rain in todays forecast. There is a chance for showers tonight. Tomorrow is the rainy day. Today looking decent. Seasonal. We will be in the mid 50s for most. By the coast, though, especially the jersey shore, the Northern Tier of long island, it will be more like the 40s. The upper 40s because winds will be in off the water. Lets show you whats happening right now. So, yes, a little bit grey to start things off. We have got cloudy skies. 43. Eastnortheast winds at 8 Miles Per Hour. Your headlines. Seasonallable easter. That means it will be in the low and mid 50s for the most part. Rain to moving in overnight. We expect the brunt of the wet weather during that morning commute. It could be steady, heavy at times and another round as we get into the afternoon hours. Right now, even though the clouds look bleak, we dont have any rain on the vortex satellite and radar picture. Thats lovely to note. Bigger picture is this. High pressure dominating over the great lakes region. Low pressure the south. Low pressure to the northwest. These two systems combine to bring us that wet Weather Forecast for your monday. Hour by hour, heres what it looks like. Looking good today except for we will see a little more sun in the afternoon. Otherwise, plenty of clouds, a little sun, and overnight some showers. Monday morning here it is 7 a. M. When the commute is getting it could be pretty steady, even heavy in spots as you make that morning commute. But midday looks to be a little bit break and then around 3 00 its that last push. After that skies are clearing. I think by your drive home there wont be any rain actually falling, but the roadways could certainly still be wet. Overnight monday into tuesday skies will clear, but the winds will be picking up big time. We are talking wind gusts around 40 Miles Per Hour. So lets take a look at these future wind gusts starting tomorrow morning at 6 a. M. Not bad. Between 10 rand 25 Miles Per Hour roughly speaking. Then as we head into the evening on monday look what happens. The storm is strengthening and with that winds will be gusting up to 35, 36 miles an hour in the city. You get the point. Windy late tomorrow. The winds persist into Tuesday Morning. That Tuesday Morning commute you could have some Wind Restrictions on some of those bridges as a result of the gusty conditions. But for today none of that. Morning clouds. And a high of 55. Cooler by the coast. Expect it to be like 40s. A chances for showers late and steadier rain as you make the morning commute with more showers in the afternoon. 59 is your high tomorrow. I would not be surprised to see some low 60s out there. Its possible. And then those winds pick up late. They will be gusting as high as 40. Your extended forecast now. Tuesday still windy out there and 54 but beautifully bright. Wednesday 56 and sunny. The winds have settled. Thursday and friday temperatures are climbing again. I think we will be pushing 70 on thursday. Late in the day into friday does look like we will be dealing with wet weather courtesy of a cold front. You know what . That cold front and another cold front moving through saturday is going to put us in a position for highs only in the 30s and low 40s as it looks right now. Sunday, monday maybe even tuesday. A week from today . A week from today. Okay. Have a looks like we are going to have a cold dip. Its the season opener. The bunny would be baseball. I know people who want to squeeze in a few more ski days. Maybe a few spots will get a little snow. We will see. Thats not in the forecast yet. And not today . Not today. Lets talk a little sports this morning. March madness ages on as a team makes the final four for the First Time Since 2009. A team i think people around here may have heard of. Yes. Steve obermeyers got that. Well, i tell you, the first week of march madness was this chaotic mix of buzzer beaters and upsets. But by this week insanity was restored as the cream froze the top and gave us some games that were superior. Villanova and kansas. Both these schools have a the tournament. Nova, though, came up with 130. 100. Kansas fights there they were within taking a basket in the final moments after the game. Like two heavyweights, this was too close to call. But a turnover by the top overall seed proved a little bit too costly for kansas. Villanova survives. They will be representing the big east in the final four. Oklahoma and oregon for a trip to the final four. This has been a dream season for the ducks. They earn their first overall seed or top seed in school history. An even bigger year for oklahomas buddy healed. If you want to know what kind of scorer he is, heald has 100 points and 15 threes prior to the final four since steph curry. Hey, buddy. Oklahoma taking out oregon 8068. For cbs2 sports i am steve obermeyer. Have a great day. You too, steve. 7 19. Frightening phone calls. Who is on the other end . Still ahead, cbs2 investigates irs impostors. And we are cleaning out your kitchen as part of our Spring Cleaning series. The items you need to toss out and why they could be the reason youre not losing weight. Morning. Living with chronic migraine feels like each day is a game of chance. I wanted to put the odds in my favor. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, and medications including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk put the odds on your side. Visit botoxchronicmigraine. Com to learn how to save on your treatment. Talk to a headache specialist today about botox. A study from Cornell Universitys food and brand lab claims that cluttered kitchens are linked to stress and weight gain. Reason you cant shed those unwanted pounds. Our Spring Cleaning series continues this morning with registered dietician and nutritionist willow gerouch. Talking about Spring Cleaning in the kitchen, where do you begin in. Its interesting because the more clutter you have in the kitchen, the less likely you are to actually make what you intend to make because you are digging through a lot of other stuff. The organization really starts with getting rid of the stuff that youre not using. Cleaning it up and reorganizing. Okay. Take us through that. This would be the refrigerator section. Get rid of what you are not using and clean it. I like to use all natural cleaning products. Baking soda. Vinegar. A rag works fine to wipe out the fridge. Go for the condiments. Used for a recipe four years ago. If you have two peanut butters, consolidate into one jar. How long can you usually keep condiments for . Just check them. If you are using them on a regular basis, they usually get used up before the expiration date. If you have ones looking old, toss them. You are not going to use them any way. Of course, fruits and vegetables. If you put fruits and veggies and hummus and things on the top shelf. So right when you open the trench those are the things that look you in the eye, you will grab them more often. Snacky stuffs like grape healthy snacks . Yes, they should go on the top drawer. When it comes to herbs, a lot of times when your fridge is messy, produce gets wasted. Fruits and veggies get old and its a waste of money and a waste of food and you are not eating them. Store them like a bouquet of they last so much longer. If your fridge isnt cluttered you will definitely see those fresh fruits and veggies too. Okay. Now we are switching in the pantry. Where do you start with that. Clean everything out. Give it a good scrub. And then look at things that might be a little bit too old or things that you just havent used and spices are a great place to start. About a year is how long spices retain their ultimate flavor. After that they lose that flavor and they are just not that good any more. Toss spices that are over a year old and toss spices that you just dont use. Then when you reorganize the pantry, a lot of times its tempting to put all like things together. And i think for efficiency, pair things the way that you use them. If you use pasta with marinara cause and chickpeas, pair that salad dressing, olive oil can be paired together. Oats in the morning with dried oughts it and go. What about utensils . Utensils can be a great thing to help making cooking at home more efficient or they can crowd your kitchen and make it impossible to find what you are looking for. I say pair it down to a few garage et cetera that make Healthy Eating easier. I love the julian peelers. A simple greater. What are some items just in general to be healthy, what are some items you always have in your kitchen . Canned beans are a great one. Broth to make a quick super. Marinara sauce for sure. And i love having herbs and spices around because it can jazz up the flavor of food that you cook at home and make it seem more like the stuff that you would be getting when you willow, we appreciate your tips. For more information head tour website cbsnewyork. Com. Hey what are you here for . You getting poked, prodded or pinched . . Uhhh yeah, colon cancer screening. Hey me too, second time. Its a piece of cake that sounds good right now. Its no big deal. Today there is more than one way to screen for colon cancer and its easier than ever.
