Lets start things off live outside right now to show you whats happening. Weve got blue skies. It is so nice out there this morning. But it is brink. 47 degrees brisk. 47 degrees. West, north west winds at 12 Miles Per Hour. Your headlines for today blue skies. Its going to be nice tomorrow as well. But late tomorrow, the clouds will start to move in and then tuesday is looking wet. Were looking at rain, maybe even one to two inks and we really inches and we really could use it. Thats good news even though it could impact your commute on tuesday. As we look at todays high, 55 degrees is where were heading. The normal high is 57. So were right on the money from where we should be this time in november. If youre wondering how long we get to endower the sunshine endure the sunshine, till 4 45 this afternoon. As far as the foliage were peaking. Ocean counties looking really good but if you want to head north, its past peak. Youll start to see empty trees. In addition today with the strong northwest breeze, its likely more leaves will be getting knocked off the trees. So certainly feeling like fall out there with falling leaves. As we look at our rainfall updates, september 1 weve gotten just over 7 inches. For that period of time, were about two and a half inches below normal. We could erase that deficit on tuesday in some cases. Looks like well have most of the rain falling to the east of the city. As you look at the vortex satellite and radar picture, clear skies overhead right now and its High Pressure to thank. Beautiful blue skies and even tomorrow as well because of this. It will be making its way in the easterly direction as that happened the northwest winds will become a little more southerly tomorrow ushering in some slightly warmer air. So well warm up by a few degrees for your monday. Before today its a fall feel. Mid50s. Breezy, sunny. Tomorrow another beautifully but notice the wind direction. Start to bring in slightly warmer air but not going to be significant. 58 tomorrow. Then on tuesday an area of low pressure tracks up the coast. As that happens well see rain day, possibly even all night rain event tuesday into early wednesday. And that may translate to 1 to 2 inches of rain for us. Heres the deal. As the High Pressure system slides up the coast, we are going to get a much needed soaking on tuesday. In addition to that, it will be a chilly northeast wind. So its not going to be warm and wet. Its going to be raw and wet as we make our way into the day on tuesday. But again we need the rain. For today no rain, just beautiful blue skies, brisk breezes out of the northwest at 10 to 15 with gusts as high as 20 Miles Per Hour. Your high today is 55. Thats pretty much where we should be. Overnight clear and getting even colder. 41 in the city will mean some areas north and west ever the city will fall below freezing overnight. The winds, though, will be senting down. As you make your way to the bus stop tomorrow morning with the kids, the windchill shouldnt be a huge factor although keep in mind it will still be cold out there. Then by afternoon tomorrow, its another beauty. 5 degrees with clouds moving in thats going to bring us rain on tuesday. So tuesday 59. Looks wet and with that wind off the water i think its going to be a pretty raw day. Wednesday 62, clearing out just in time for veterans day. Thats looking nice. For thursday 63 degrees and a front likely bringing us a little bit more rain. Friday and saturday skies are clearing out. Saturday were looking at 54 and mostly sunny. All right. So get the umbrella ready for tuesday. And get the camera ready to see the last fall colors. Its coming to an end for sure. Then with the rain on tuesday, it really could wash it out. It is cool and crisp out there and today well be will be a perfect fall day in my personal opinion with highs in the 50s. Tons of sun and a stiff breeze out of the northwest. Lets check in with our weather watchers. More photos from this morning so well start things off there. First off this one from gina. She calls this november gold. I think if you go out today to look at the leaves, youre going to see a lot of this because the skies will be blue. The sun will be bright and that color will just be shimmering on those trees. Anthony sends us this one of the the beautiful blue skies out there this morning. And essentially this is how its going to look for the duration of your day. We might see a few high thin clouds but generally clear skies, seasonable temperatures and a breeze out of the northwest. Gusts could be as high as 20 Miles Per Hour today. Lets take you live outside. A look across the city skyline. There are a couple of few thin clouds i was mentioning. In central park 47 degrees. West, northwest winds at 12 Miles Per Hour. So what can you expect if this forecast . Its a clear and cold start to your sunday morning. But its going to be sunny skies throughout the day and a sunny start to your monday as well. But late tomorrow, the clouds begin to thicken and then on tuesday, so far its looking like soaking rain which is definitely a different story than yesterday. Yesterday it looks like maybe some showers but now this system will be moving more north and will hug the coast so we could actually get much needed rain on tuesday. As we look at the temperature trend, it was so warm this week. 74 on friday. Saturday at midnight it was around 72. Yesterday in the afternoon 60s for the most part. Today highs will only be in the mid50s. But that really is where we should be. The normal high is 57. We have a slow and steady climb from there. As we make our way through the week, maybe a couple of low 60 degree days but essentially upper 50s is where its at this week. On the vortex satellite and radar picture, clear skies out there right now. We have High Pressure to thank for that. Today and tomorrow will control the forecast. So here it is. It will migrate to the east. As that happens the winds will begin to switch but on tuesday, then low pressure takes over and thats when the rain moves on in. So lets show you what this looks like hour by hour. For today beautiful blue skies. Temps in the 50s and breezy. Overnight clear skies, temperatures will drop again. Most of your monday is sun filled but here we are at 6 30 tomorrow evening and those clouds are beginning to make their way in from the south. Its all associated with that area of low pressure moving up the coast. So watch what happens. The clouds thicken first of the the rain follows. 6 00 a. M. Tuesday morning bad timing for wet weather to move on in. Could very much impact your morning commute on tuesday. Its heavy and steady through the noon hour. It is still raining around 5 00 for the evening commute and really it doesnt wrap up until wednesday. But skies will be clearing for veterans day throughout the day. As we look at the rainfall totals from this event, we could see 1 to 2 inches.
