And 66yearold suspect larry dawson is now undergoing surgery. Capitol police say a woman in her mid30s to 40s was also injured, but no Capitol Police were hurt. Cbs 2 is demanding answers sitting in pools of water at a new jersey cemetery. Many of the people buried here are war veterans. Meg baker talked to loved ones who said this is not the first time they have seen this problem. These are old pictures harry miller treasures of his family. His father served in world war ii and he wants to continue to hon irhim as the a veteran. My father was in the battle of the bulge, belgium, france, dday. He says the jewish section of the forest green Park Cemetery in marlboro township where his father and other veterans are buried are not maintained. You can see they are submerged in water. It is very disrespectful that the graves are left like that. Miller says after it rains the water creates small lakes that sit for weeks. Visitors say they often cant reach loved ones because they would have to walk through thick muck like this. You can tell the graves have have the muck from the water, it has been sitting on them for long periods of time. The cemetery would not comment but passed me on to their contractor joe yuris who says there is not a drainage issue. He told me they will add topsoil and seed, like they do every spring, in may. And the response from the cemetery, they are going to put some seed, and a little topsoil, it is not the problem. It is a big drainage issue that they are apparently not going to address. Our veterans deserve better. Because i get emotional. The commander at the vfw in sayreville was upset to see the veterans graves covered in water. If they let the cemetery go that way, there is sog wrong there. They should take care of it. They hope something more can be done to preserve the memory of hose who fought for our country. In marlboro township, meg baker, cbs 2 news. Cemeteries that are not run by religious institutions such as forest green park are weather picture tonight. Wind warnings for much of the tristate area. You take a look outside, you can see it is already blowing on the west side. And tonight, gusts could reach up to 50 miles per hour. Lonnie quinn is in the wether center with more on that. Lonnie . Right now you see clouds and sun. A little mixture out there. 60 degrees but the camera is shaking because it is blustery and again, the possibility for 50 mileanhour gusts. All because of an exiting low pressure system and approaching High Pressure system and that tight Pressure Gradient in between. But williamsport, pennsylvania, already reported a 50 milean hour gust. That is a possibility in our area as well. And National Weather service has put into effect a wind advisory for all of our counties. With that possibility for wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour, all the way to 6 00 tomorrow evening. I think a 50 mileanhour gust would be, you know, on the high end. I think it is more 30s and 40s. But i wont rule it out. It is a possibly that could crack a limb and even take some isolated power outages, it could be in effect, in the area as well. A shaken elafit collin after his brother was shot in the face around 3 00 in the morning here on davis place in east orange, after responding to a call for a pickup here. His colleagues tell me what happened next is truly remarkable. Though badly wounded, they say collins somehow managed to drive his cab three blocks around to the east Orange Police station, where he reported the shooting to cops. Before being sent off for he consciously drove himself to the precinct. How did he do that . I dont know. It is a miracle. Everybody here is just astonished by what happened. Collin is described as a family man. A husband and a father of four. And his distraught twin brother telling me, he couldnt believe it. I am 100 sure. I am 100 sure. Youre hurt. I am hurt. Because i dont have insurance. I spoke to the victims wife here at university hospital. She told me she didnt want to be on camera. Surveillance video shows the man police say beat an elderly woman inside her Ocean Parkway apartment, saturday afternoon, in kensington, brooklyn. But in an adjacent apartment, yvonne risata cracked open her door to see what was going on and spike her pit bull slipped out and with his tail wagging ran over to the officer who pulled his weapon and fired one shot at pointblank range killing the dog. We are freezing the video just before the gunshot. The question was, could they use pepper spray and did they need to shoot at all. It will be part of the investigation. I have seen the video myself or portions of it. The video taken early in the morning shows the woman running down the stairs in her underwear when they confront the officers. They jump on top of me, i am they pinned her down to the stairs. Her whole back was black and blue. Police reversed to identify the officer who shot spike but sources tell us it is officer ruben cuesta. In all circumstances we have to leave it to the officers understanding of what is happening at the scene and as to what piece of equipment he might use. Taser, pepper spray, firearm. This, he used the firearm and as part of the investigation, he will have to justify what was going through his mind at that particular time. And the nypd recently changed the strength of the pepper spray that they give to officers. The old spray would not change what happened to the dog. The new spray would. It will make it feel like it is below freezing for everybody. Tomorrow at 6 00 a. M. , and now temperatures may very well be, you know, like around 40 degrees. But feeling sub freezing. 53 will be the High Temperature. And it feels like the wind out there and across the board, like 56 on wednesday with the sunshine, and no wind, and then 69 on thursday. And thats that almost 70 degree reading. And 48 will be the High Temperature on sunday. Even colder on monday. At 46.
