Now, first earlier we heard he seemed to think that they were close on a deal. He said there were a few items that still needed to be worked out including healthcare and wages. There could possibly be an agreement let me try to be responsive. There are a fair number of moving pieces still. Collective bargaining agreements are very complicated, all right . They are very complicated. This one is complicated. But theres only a few things that are continuing to move. Now, they happen to be important things. All employees on sick leave will no longer receive sick leave compensation. And Insurance Benefits will be discontinued. Now, the union says they reject this and said it is counterproductive to the negotiation. We spoke to senator menendez as he got off the train in newark. He said federal negotiators will get involved if they have to. We cannot afford a shutdown. It not only will disrupt the lives of well over 100,000 riders but the businesses they work for, people who reporter now, the union has set sunday at 12 01 into sunday morning as their deadline for a strike if this negotiation doesnt go through. Reporter the Innocence Project started reinvestigating the case and says the prosecutions one and only witness to the murder a convicted felon who admitted to smoking crack that day initially identified another man as the suspect a man police found out was in jail when the crime happened. Then that witness identified hatchett from a photo lineup. The District Attorney calls that witness and the evidence defective and deficient. The police in this case did an incredibly sloppy investigation. He shouldnt spend another minute in jail for this wrongful conviction. I want to be with my family and go eat some real food. Reporter prosecutors say theres a good chance they will never know how the real killer is but they say they are not giving up on that case and hoping for a new lead. The city has taken action against a homeless woman well known to People Living in hells kitchen. Last night, sanitation workers tossed out items from the large caravan of shopping carts that belonged to sonia gonzalez. We first told you about her yesterday and somehow she symbolizes the citys homeless problem. Gonzalez talked about her carts filled with bottles, blankets, clothing and food that she pushed through the streets. The mayor says gonzalez will get some help. She no longer has though shopping carts and were going to work very hard to get her the care she needs even though she is resistant. Police said yesterday they would convince gonzalez to go to a shelter. A billboard along manhattans west side has drivers slowing down and doing double takes because of all of the words on it.
