Reporter in pain, with her face stitched, 24yearold Amanda Morris says she is angry the man police say attacked her 41yearold career criminal Kari Bazemore has a rap sheet with dozens of in trouble with the law for allegedly attacking others before she encountered a stranger with a razor. Her attack is on this Surveillance Video from 23rd street and chelsea Early Morning wednesday. At first the attacker walked ahead of her then hanging back until they were side by side. We will have the most Aggressive Development program in the history of the state of new york. Reporter the overhaul scheduled to started this year will add one million square feet to the convention center. It will be onethird larger giving it five times more meeting rooms and the largest ballroom in the northeast. Plus a bigger garage so trucks making deliveries wont have to park on the city streets. Because of its size and lack of facilities the javits loses about 15 major conventions a year. And unlike the car show and the boat show where people come for the day and go home these are conventions where people stay for days and spend a lot of money. Its estimated that this expansion will increase hotel nights by 200,000. Reporter that could mean an extra 400 million in Economic Activity from people not only staying in hotels but going to broadway shows, eating in restaurants and shopping. 4,000 more jobs will be reporter but the javits expansion is just one of the many, many projects cuomo announced in the last few days. A new penn station, expansion of the long island rail road, preventing toll increases on the thruway and the Tappan Zee Bridge until 2020 in addition to new airports at jfk and laguardia. How will the state pay for it all . Thats the big question everyone is asking. On javits alone, cuomo said it happen on javits own land. We dont have to go out and acquire any property. The approximate cost is 1 billion. It will be financed by javits and the Empire State Development corporation. Reporter in some of the other projects, cuomo has announced like penn station, a private Public Partnership will be formed. That means that the state will pony up some of the money. I, the taxpayers. The grand Opening Celebration was held outside columbia care. This is on east 14th street. The first medical Marijuana Dispensary in new york city. This tank is so that we can discharge a weapon and get that bullet out of the gun for evidence. It will travel through the water and eventually drop to the bottom of the tank. Reporter then recovered and it is compared with the markings on the bullet to a database of crimes and test for fingerprints. Its all part of a lengthy process to rid the city of illegal guns that starts on the streets with nightly patrols. Our main goal every day is to make a gun arrest. Colder, dozens of frozen sea turtles have turned up on the shores of long island. The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research says it has been able to revive about 13 of what they call cold stunned turtles. Another 25 sea turtles died from hypothermia including four discovered this morning on the sound. The foundation says if you find a turtle thats been stunned by the cold, contact Animal Rescue workers and let them do the work. Dont touch it.
