Its one of those smart phones along with a quickthinking officer whos credited tonight with making an arrest in an unsolved murder. Police say 33 year old [ indiscernible ] abalard was waiting for the subway thursday night unaware that 25 hours later hed be in handcuffs. All they knew was he looked like this sketch. The sketch came out three months ago after a robbery gone police say he and another man came to 1021 north avenue confronted a man and shot him three times. The suspects took off and the victim was pronounced dead. Fast forward to thursday night. Plain clothed officers saw abalard standing and spitting on the train platform. The officers recognized him, used their smart phones to pull up the sketch and do a check, murder suspect. The officers moved in and arrested him for the spitting. Once they nabbed him, they were able to charge him with the murder back in november. And it was in large part smart phones. He was taken from the precinct about an hour ago.
