On top of that, we have to factor in the winds gusting up to 33 Miles Per Hour in Atlantic City, 36 in wildwood, and 30 Miles Per Hour in georgetown. Youll notice that wind direction was out of the northeast. Well see sustained wind from the northeast for philadelphia around 22 Miles Per Hour, and the wind direction is important because thats helping to push more water onshore, so we are going to continue with with that coastal Flood Warning as we go into the rest of today. The temperatures will stay between 5457, and youll notice the coastal Flood Warnings staying in effect through sunday at 6 00 p. M. For other parts of the area like kent and new castle county, the beach and shore communities, and those counties, coastal Flood Warnings are in effect through midnight. Our futurecast shows us that over the next 24 hours, well continue with the on and off light rainfall. Some areas seeing more rain than others, but, again, its going to be wet as we head into the start of your week. Track Officials Say events go on as long as drivers and fans feel they are not at risk. He may be connected to an Armed Robbery in the temple area. And in bucks county, two arrests may finally give the families close sure decades after a young girl was raped and murdered. Police arrested george shaw and Robert Sanders charged in ken connection with the death of Barbara Rowan in 1984. Shaw raped and strangled her, and sanders helped dispose of the body. She was discovered two weeks later in the woods near her home. She was secretly hired to babysit, and he lured her into his bedroom where he killed her. Police arrested sanders in monroe county, pennsylvania, and shaw arrested in florida. They call shaw a serial rapist and fear other victims could be out there. Federal officials are expanding their corruption investigation of allentown city hall. City officials confirm prosecutors asked them to keep emails and documents relating to several people or companies that did business with allentown. The fbi is looking into a possible connection between Campaign Contributions and development contracts. In july, agents raided city hall taking computers, cell phones, and files. And former Philadelphia Eagle irving friar will spend five years in prison, sentenced yesterday along with his mother on probation for three years. The pair was found guilty in august of taking out six loans on one home and not telling the lenders. They were convicted of conspi conspireing to steal more than 1 million. The crew reported the ship lost power in the bahamas passing close to the eye of the storm. They believe it could be in waves up to 30 feet high. Flood waters washes over the streets down the shore yesterday. Right now, we are watching the conditions there and what problems could pop up today. A live look outside now, low hanging clouds, and light rain moving in philadelphia along the shoreline and in parts of delaware, poconos, and this is still going to be a cold windy rain with temperatures today expected to stay in the mid50s. Look at the rainfall totals so far. You can see the bull ease ie is the central and southern parts of delaware, especially the southern parts of delaware anywhere between 34 inches around the long neck area, and those are some of the highest amounts. Our futurecast shows well co. To see rain moving in, very light and spotty, not like the heavy rain seen yesterday, but still sticking around, and still cold. Army revealed yesterday that he flunked out of basic training in 2008, harper died in a shootout with police. Last night, authorities released names of nine people he shot to death in umpqua. They ranged in ages 1867, including freshman students and a professor. Nine other people were hurt including chris mintz. The army vetd ran now hailed as a hero, shot seven times while trying to block the gunman. Another student was injured while that student played dead. She said god was telling her to stay calm, stay still, dont do anything. Like, apparently, the beggunman said, girl in the black, you know, girl with the blond air, stand up. She stayed still. Wow. Investigators found six guns at t college and seven more at his apartment and all were purchased legally. Were following a developing story overseas as the death toll climbs after an apparent u. S. Air strike hit a Doctors Without Borders clinic in afghanistan. Nine Staff Members died and dozens of others unaccounted for. We got video of the scene this morning. Fires burning inside the Doctors Without Borders clinic. U. S. Forces conducted an air strike in the area, and there may be, quote, collateral damage, to a nearby medical center. The incident is right now under investigation. She became a symbol of defiance after being shot on a school bus in pakistan in 2012, targeted for advocating girls rights for education. Nbc 10 jersey shore reporter Ted Greenberg shows us what its been like throughout all morning there. Reporter well, were in part of Cape May County called grassy sound village, a community of several homes right on the back bay just outside of north wildwood, and you can see some of the damage that this storm has done. Take a look at that deck. You can see its. Ripped awart. Part hanging in the war. This, the result of very, very rough water in the back bay because of the very strong winds that we have been dealing with over the past few dayings. Not too far from here on another side of this community, you look out at the bay, and you see a house, a house that is now in the bay. It was actually on the other side of this community, grassy sound village, but it collapsed in the water and floated quite a ways down south towards wildwood and Wildwood Crest in that direction, on the north side of the village, and you can see now it ended up in the channel in gro grassy sound. We dealt with two days of flooding so far here at the jersey shore, preparing for another third day of flooding. Moderate tidal flooding expected around the time of high tide, 12 30 on the ocean, one to two hours later on the back bay, similar to what we saw yesterday when widespread monitor coastal flooding along the jersey shore. Low lying flood prone areas with a lot of high water as well as areas that did not normally flood because the back bays are so full. The northeast wind continued over the past few days to push more and more water into the back bays, and theres no opportunity for the water to recede back in the ocean. Looking at a third day of flooding today, possibly a fourth tomorrow. A lot of folks around here say this is the worst flooding seen since Hurricane Sandy in 2012. In middletownship, nbc 10 news. Thanks for that, ted. Shore communities are preparing for whatever this weekends weather brings their way. Governor Chris Christie held aing yesterday. Six to ten foot waeves over the course of the weekend damaging the beaches lead to more beach erosion. A fear of the storm, so the dunes were just replenished. Governor christie says its another indication why Preparedness Measures following sandy are so important. In glosser and camden counties, utility crews work around the clock to tie up loose ends during the latest round of Stormy Weather, shoring up storm drains and taking down trees that could fall over and clearing debris that still exists around after a series of storm we had in june. Some businesses had yet to rebuild and reopen following that storm that knocked out power for days. A Camden County freeholder and homeowner fears a similar outage could hit again. It takes time because it takes money to be able to repair everything. We also, in our town, have debris that is still down. Our Public Works Department is trying to get to it all, but we have to tell residents to be patient. Officials urge homeowners to secure things on their own properties and not let their guard down during all of this rain. Delaware is under a limited state of emergency just for Sussex County. The governor says state offices remain open, but for the parks and campgrounds across the state, this weekend is, unfortunatelily, a washout. Camp sites are closed today and tomorrow. Fenwick island is also closed. A highway exit in North Eastern pennsylvania is named in honor of a state trooper killed in an ambush last year. Exit 30 on interstate 8 4 in Blooming Grove pike county renamed after corp. Patrol Byron Dickson yesterday. He was killed outside his barricks, a veteran of the marine corp. And behind a wife and two young sons, and his colleague, trooper Alex Douglass was shot, but survived. Frein led troops on a 48 day man hunt and was later found hiding in an abandon airplane hanger and he has pled not guilty. So thats when the coastal Flood Warning should expire, but a closer look at the shot, and that shows moisture ask still moving into the region, and we do expect to see light rain on and off as we go into the rest of today, and were checking out a steady rain along the shore from cape may up to Atlantic City and the entire state of the bulls eye of the storm, the 36 hour rainfall totals, and you can see the heaviest amount in Sussex County along the shoreline, closer to the beach and louis, 34 inches, you see the oranges and reds, as you see the green and yellow, thats closer to the 12 inch rainfall rate. Cold and wet conditions continue for us as we head into the rest of the saturday, and expect spotty, light rainfall to continue. You need a hooded jacket or an umbrella throughout the day. By tomorrow, you dont need it. Well start to see mostly cloudy skies and passing showers as we head in the second half of the week, and our temperatures by tomorrow will actually start to push into the 60s, so its a slow recovery, our average for this time of year is closer to the low 70s.
