Currently were at 28 degrees in pottstown and 31 in philadelphia. 30 for northeast philadelphia and 20 in pocono, lancaster at 27. But look farther south, much more mild than we saw yesterday morning. Dover at 40, wildwood at 41 and Atlantic City at 39 degrees. So were talking temperatures that are later today going to pick up in some spots to the low 50s instead of capping in the 30s like we saw yesterday. Here the current wind speeds. That had been a factor because it might have felt a little cooler this morning in some spots, but mostly its lighter were dealing with. Wilmington, allentown, only 3 Miles Per Hour lighter. Making you feel just slightly cooler than it truly is this morning. On radar and satellite, some clouds spilling across the area, but today we remain dry. Were not tracking rain or snow. Instead just some clouds in todays forecast. As we move forward today, its all about the warmup of those temperatures compared especially to what we saw yesterday. Then its the rain. Sunday we are tracking a much rainier forecast, but rain, not snow. As we go into the work week, windy conditions as well. Well talk about all of those changes coming up in just a few minutes. Well see you shortly. Thanks, krystal. In jersey city, a man is dead and police say they found a gun where he collapsed. Detectives spent hours investigating on south avenue last night. A Police Source tells us a man ran from an officer and then he pulled out a gun. Police shot the man. He died a short time later. Its not even the first time the cops killing blacks and stuff like that. Show me your hands. Show me your [ bleep ] hands this all comes two years after the Deadly Police shooting of jeremy reed at a traffic stop. They eventually cleared the officers who shot him. Rules were put in force after that death and they are being used in this most recent shooting investigation. The governor will join loved ones and comrades at the funeral of state officer lieutenant floyd. The lieutenant was killed at the lavon Correctional Center in smyrna. His service will be held in dover. A private viewing was held last night. Also in newcastle they will be holding a fundraiser for lieutenant floyds family. It will benefit two online accounts that will help floyds family. Police are searching for a driver that hit one of their officers. The driver crashed into this car at 52nd and market streets in west philadelphia. When the officer approached the driver, he sped off, hit that officer. The officer was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and then released. The white house says President Donald Trump has full confidence in his National Security adviser, mike flynn. Nbc news confirms reports that flynn spoke to the Russian Ambassador about Obama Administration sanctions on russia before President Trump took office. Flynn, Vice President mike pence and other top officials have denied that. Yesterday flynn said, though, that he wasnt sure if he talked to the ambassador about the sanctions. That he would mislead the American People about what he discussed with a Russian Ambassador, that makes him, i think, if true, patently unfit for office. Some lawmakers are looking at the timing of flints communication with the Russian Ambassador just as the white house was disspelling Russian Diplomats for an election hacking. Russia may be returning snow snowden to the United States as a socalled gift. The russians may hand over snowden as a ploy to curry favor with the president. The president called the nsa leaker a spy and a traitor who deserves to be executed. Snowden tweeted last night, finally, irrefutable evidence that i never messed with intel. They are next. This morning President Trump is looking at options after a federal Appeals Court held a freeze on his controversial travel ban. Just yesterday the president said he is considering signing a new executive order on immigration while the first one is tied up in court. President trump told reporters aboard air force one that hell likely make a move by tuesday. The president added that he is confident he will win the legal battle over his First Executive order. Former president ial candidate and vermont senator Bernie Sanders will be his chuck todds guest on meet the press. A section of broad street in center city is shut down because of a construction project, and thats just one of several street closures in the city this weekend. This is between broad, locust and walnut. They shut this down an hour ago so they could erect a tower crane you see there that will be used for some of these projects. This area will be closed until 8 00 p. M. On sunday. Heres some of the closures you should be aware of if youre driving around this morning at 6 00 a. M. There will be closures at filbert and 4th street. Then arch to race will be closed. At 7 00 a. M. , 18th street, callowhill street, washington avenue and race street will be closed until 3 00. Expect closures at 8 30 on lombard street as well. Tomorrow just a couple closures in the area of 16th street and arch street. Unfortunately, following the good deal of snow they just saw a couple days ago. For us, snow is going to be melting off today, anything thats still left out there and pretty quickly. Because look at these temperatures today on your planners. We start the day at 34, but 44 by noon, 48 in the afternoon. In the suburbs, warm as well. 32 degrees by 8 00 a. M. , 41 by noon, picking up to those late 40s by afternoon. You still notice the change in temps. Well see cloudy to mostly cloudy conditions. Peaks of sunshine out there in the afternoon, but definitely going to snow the cloud coverage throughout the day. In delaware, 35 by 8 00 a. M. , 51 by noon. Right around 50 in new jersey and the shore as well, so temperatures today in some spots 20 degrees warmer than yesterday afternoon. Considerable difference here. Take a look over the next few days. Theyre offering a 1,000 reward for the smokers return. The army says it will not pay more than 1. 5 million in damages that were caused when this runaway blimp crashed in pennsylvania. It broke loose in maryland and crash landed in bloomsberg. This was back in 2015. It hit power lines. The army is denying any claims saying no departments or agencies were responsible or negligent. In other news this morning, a Burlington County pet store is closed for good after being cited for parvo virus and unsightly conditions. Pet owners said the puppy barn sold them sick and dying dogs. Dozens of sick puppies rescued from the store need homes. The county tells us it will hold the puppy barn accountable to pick up the tab for any pet owners dealing with a sick animal. An army exclusive in bucks county caught on camera. They saved a goose that survived a shooting attack. They will examine four other geese that died and investigators are looking for the shooter. Brian hudson reports from salisbury township. Someone shot at these geese in a retention pond during a storm on thursday. They came dangerously close to those other homes on the other side of the pond. We were here as the group got down into the water to save the only living goose. There you go, kid. Some of us sitting just barely above the freezing line. But as we get into the afternoon, temperatures will actually be fairly mild and warmer than average. The average for this time of year is 43 degrees. Were looking at the burks county, Lehigh Valley area, just a little bit of a chill. Redding at 28 and we see those mid20s for much of the Lehigh Valley. Nazareth at 27 degrees. These temperatures are starting out again chilly and some of us feel a little colder than we actually are due to some light winds out there this morning. But i cant stress this enough. It was that one day yesterday that we had the chill through the afternoon. Today we get back to temperatures that are warmer than average. Heres radar and satellite. Hampton may make it to the mid50s, so across the map were talking about temperatures a lot better off than yesterday afternoon. At the shore 52. Atlantic city, ocean city up to 55. I think most of delaware will sit in the lower 50s. 53 degrees for northern delaware, but farther south, upper 50s are possible.
