At this point in the day. Take a look. 4 degrees warm in philadelphia, 6 degrees warmer in mt. Holly. 6 degrees warmer in vineland. Yesterday, we tapped out as a high of 77, that was 10 degrees lower than average. Today, closer to average but still below in the low 80s. Were at 73 right now in philadelphia. Dover the same. In Atlantic City, 73 degrees. Water temperature good too. 74 right now. Its clear. Clouds that are way off to sea, but otherwise, no clouds overhead with our area. I have been confirming this by looking at all of our live cameras. It is gorgeous out there. This is definitely a day you go out for the long dog walk, maybe heading to the shore. Much better than yesterday. In the temperatures over the next several hours, getting up to 80s. 79 degrees by 1 00 p. M. , and 82 by 4 00 in philadelphia. Pregame coverage starts at 7 00, thursday, august 10th, only on nbc 10. New this morning in philadelphia, a driver is under arrest in a hitandrun that sent a bicycle rider to the hospital. Nbc 10 was on the scene in Center Street where police say a driver in a sedan with new york plates hit the bike around 2 30 this morning and kept going. Police stopped the driver just a few blocks away. The victim is in stable condition. Also new this morning, investigators are looking into a fire that damaged a jamaican rest in the brewerytown section of philly. Two apartments above the restaurant were also damaged. Crews were able to get the flames under control just before 7 30 this morning. Nobody was hurt. Health Department Officials have also been out there on the scene. Theyll be inspecting the restaurant so it can reopen at a later date. This morning, the search is on for a gunman wanted in a deadly shooting just outside of an Apartment Building in delaware county. Police say the victim appeared to be targeted in the case. Detectives hope you take a good look at the alleged shooter captured on security video. They need help finding him. The image shows theman running from the scene on haverford road in haverford township last night. The investigate was shot several times. Witnesses say the gunman curse at them as he ran off. Still in the apartment, heard gunshots, came downstairs, found the victim laying in the doorway. They pulled out a guy coming down on a stretcher. Pounding on his chest and resuscitating him. He may have been targeted for some reason, may know the shooter. We dont think its a random shooting by any stretch. Officers say the shooter disappeared through an alley while running toward eagle road. A center city homeless shelter is coping with the death of a man killed during breakfast over the weekend. The sunday Breakfast Mission on north 13th street became a crime scene yesterday after a man was stabbed to death. Police tell us they did recover a weapon and they did take another man into custody. No word yet if hes been charged. Now to an update on a deadly fire we first told you about yesterday morning. A family in camden is grieving the fire claimed the life of a 4yearold girl. She died when the flames ripped through two row homes on morton street early yesterday. Ten other people were injured. Her grandmother spoke exclusively to nbc 10. She told us the 4yearold was sleeping downstairs on the couch when the blaze broke out. They told me they found her in the doorway. She was trying to get out. Early indications show nothing suspicious about this fire. Investigators also say the smoke detectors were working inside the row home. An applebees restaurant employee continues to recover this morning after he was robbed and shot in newark just yesterday. The victim is already out of the hospital. Police in New Castle County tell us two approached the workers car and then shot him. They ran from the scene. Right now, police are taking a look at the restaurants surveillance videos to try to track down the robbers. This morning, five teens including a 13yearold are facing charges for allegedly breaking into two homes in new castle count a. The two oldest suspects are 19yearold hunter folts and 18yearold edwin Santiago Rodriguez. Police say theyre part of a Group Responsible for breaking into two homes in the community of meadowwood. Folts and Santiago Rodriguez are being held at the youth correctional facility in the area. The three others have been released to their families. Right now, the annual tour de shore bike event is pedaling on from philadelphia to Atlantic City. Hundreds of riders pushed off earlier this morning. They crossed the ben frank bridge into camden county. Making their way south to Atlantic City. Deanna durante is participating in the event. This is what the flooding looked like at the height of the storm yesterday in margate along ventnor avenue early yesterday. The heavy rain swamped the streets. In fact, the deluge was not confined to just the roads of margate. The rain dumped buckets of water over the newly constructed sand dunes. The water was knee high and to get to the etch boo in the afternoon, you had to wade through it or a long detour around it. The dune construction margate has been unpopular project that the city tries to fight in court. Now some neighbors say their worst fears have been realized. I would describe it as a mess created by people that were not very thoughtful about what they were doing. We had a beautiful beach here and its ruined. And not only has it been ruined in terms of the views but they created a dangerous situation for all of the families iin margate. State varmental officials tell us the sands is saturated so that means its going to take time to drain. Theyre working with the army corps of engineers to address the problem. 10 13 on this sunday.
