Approaching the schuylkill expressway, we are seeing pretty major delays, the northbound side is not affected at this time. Again, because of this water main repair, we may see really major or nasty delays heading into the beginning of the morning rush. Were also watching in abington and easton road. New this morning, a scare at lax causes chaos inside and outside the airport. Hundreds of people poured out of the airport, some on to the tarmac when rumors spread about an active shooter. It started when some travelers heard loud noises and thought they were shots fired. Terminals were cleared but police did not find a gunman. Theyre still investigating the source of the noise. Flight operations resumed after about 30 minutes. Youll remember a similar scene two weeks ago at jfk airport. Police rushed to the terminals there after reports of shots fire. In this case, passengers cheering the olympics caused the scare. New from overnight in philadelphia, three teenage boys are in the hospital after they were shot in the middle of the street. Nbc 10s Monique Braxton is live outsidec childrens hospil of philadelphia where one of the victims way taken. Police believe this could have been part of a shootout. What are you learning . What were learning is that the investigators tell us the three teenagers are in stable condition. One of them is here at c. H. O. P. , shot in the lower back and he is also recovering in stable condition. Moments after the triple shooting we saw south detectives and officers from the 17th district combing over the scene. Shots rang out at 27th and tasker just after midnight, according to police. The three victims, ages 16 and 17, were shot in the leg or the back. Police took the 16 and 17yearold shot in their leg over to presbyterian hospital. Police dont know if the teens were the intend targets but they do cite the victims were breaking curfew. Theres an 11 00 p. M. Curfew in the city of philadelphia for 16 and 17yearolds. The city designed the curfew to protect children from danger, in this case, gunfire. Based on ballistic evidence we know there were at least 12 shots fired from a semiautomatic weapon. Based on the grouping of the ballistic evidence we believe this was a shootout between two groups of people or two people. Yet police did not find weapons at the scene but this morning, the owners of at least three cars are waking up and will find bullet holes in their vehicles. Police have no clear description of the gunmen. Theyre currently reviewing private surveillance and the citys realtime crime cameras in the area. Now, the teens shot as well as their parents could all be cited. Because for teenagers and parents, the fines for breaking curfew is up to 300. Jessica boyington is keeping an eye on how this will impact your morning commute. Two United Airlines pilots from north jersey are expected in court today in scotland. They are suspected of being drunk just before a scheduled flight to the u. S. The pilots were supposed to fly from glasgow to newark with more than 140 passengers on saturday. Instead, that flight was delayed ten hours while the airline found replacement pilots. Police arrested them just before they were set to board that flight. The pilots face charges linked to britains transport safety laws. You may recall a similar story earlier this year. Police in detroit arrested this American Airlines pilot who failed two breathalyzer tests before taking off for philadelphia. The pilot pleaded no contest, was put on probation. Last year, this jetblue pilot flew passengers from orlando to new york while allegedly under the influence. Under faa rules pilots are not allowed to consume alcohol within eight hours of a flight. In south jersey, the reward in the killing of an 8yearold camden girl has grown to 50,000. Gabby hill carter was taken off life support on friday. Overnight weve learned that as many as a dozen shots were fired, one 16yearold was struck in his lower back. Hes now in stable condition here at c. H. O. P. Weve also learned, if youre just waking up, that police say gunshots were fired near 27th and tasker just after midnight. Our camera captured south detectives and officers from the 17th combing over the scene for clues. The two victims shot are now in stable condition. They are 16 and 17 years old. They were hit in the leg or the back. Police took them over to presbyterian. At this point, everybody is listed in stable condition. Weve also learned semiautomatic weapons were either fire by two groups or individuals. Police also tell us they dont know if the teens were the intended targets but police do sight the 11 00 p. M. Curfew for 16 and 17yearolds. Theyre juveniles. Theyre not adults. So, therefore, they have to adhere to the curfew rules and they should have been in, they should have been home. These curfews protect people from not only committing crimes but also from being victims of crimes. Police tell us three parked cars were also hit by bullets. Police are reviewing private surveillance and the citys realtime crime cameras in the area with hopes of capturing descriptions of the gunmen. Now with a dozen or so shots fired on the street, police have not been able to locate a weapon. An accident, thats what police are calling the death of a toddler hit by a car in West Philadelphia. The little boy was just 23 months old. His cousin said the child was on the sidewalk when he darted in between two parked cars and out on to merion avenue. A woman was unable to see the boy and stop in time. The cousin told us the toddler was visiting his grandmother at the time. We call him scooty. Good little boy, man. He was out there playing. By the time he ran out in the street, it was just too late. Your heart is going to go out to him and especially the person who hit him, too. She had kids in the car with her. It hit her pretty hard, too. There was no indication the driver was speeding. Police say she is cooperating with the investigation. Also in philadelphia, three people are recovering from a car accident in Port Richmond that may have involved street racing. The car went off the road near cumberland and richmond streets yesterday. Police say two kids, 11 and 15, were passengers. Investigators said another car involved at the scene did not stop. They were checking out the driver for possible street racing and dui. So far, no charges. San francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick is speaking for the First Time Since his controversial decision to sit during the nationalc anthem. Kaepernick is defending his right not to stand and join his team during the anthem. People across the country are outraged. One fan even burned his jersey. Officer victor ortiz pulled a man out of the path of a speeding train near secaucus junction friday morning. He struggles with a man and pulls him away just seconds before the train enters the frame. Officers say the man laid on the tracks on purpose. Officer ortiz is a 16year member of the transit police. Officials say his actions are a reminder of the daily sacrifice from members of the force every time they put on their uniform. Today is the dead lean for Chester City Council to approve an economic Recovery Plan that could include job cuts for police and firefighters. An independent Consulting Firm recommended cutting First Responders jobs through attrition and adding a 5 tax on entertainment tickets. Some citizens in chester who attended Public Meetings on the plan were upset over the proposal that they say would impact their safety. The counsel passed amendments to the plan. If it does not approve that plan today, it will have to come up with a plan of its own to cut costs. Decision 2016. Donald trump will visit detroit on saturday to reach out to africanamerican voters. A witness called them after seeing a 9yearold and 8yearold running into the street after their dog. Rehoboth pd offered up this response. The officers of the Rehoboth BeachPolice Department wear the badge with pride as a symbol of justice with emphasis on moral and ethical decisionmaking. This case was no different. Reporter rodriguez is making a dominican fruit smoothei, a Computer Science student who translates her bills from english to spanish. She couldnt read them. She got me or my other cousin to read them for her. She received about a 100 water bill from the city of philadelphia. The property was listed under her name but she didnt own it. I was like, grandma, this isnt your address. This was a different address. Reporter at dress matches this empty lot, some two miles away from her home. They told the city the bill was a mistake numerous times but the unpaid amount kept on collecting late fees and showing up in rodriguezs mailbox. Hoping they would realize the mistake but they didnt.
