Lets start with today and get the first alert meteorologist bill henley who has the neighborhood forecast. Today is the unofficial start of summer. It will be in the upper 80s. Humidity will be low. Wilmington, 81 by noontime. For philadelphia, sunny skies and into the 60s at 8 00. Near 80 degrees at 11 00. Bright sunshine will warm temperatures into the 80s. T exception is the jersey shore where its 74 degrees. When i come back, a look at the weekend forecast. Right now Jessica Boyington has a look at traffic. This is 422 around oaks. Eastbound we have Police Activity because of a car that rolled off into the center embank. Here. You can see that down in the bottom corner of your screen. The Police Officers are actually blocking off that left part of the shoulder, left part of that and part of the left lane. Now one lane getting by on 422 headed eastbound. We will see delays. Well check in with the drive times and see if we see any yet. So far you can see a bit of yellow on our roadway map. Eastbound from 29 to the schuylkill, 10 minutes. We only increased about three minutes or so. Philadelphia police are questioning two men after a deadly shooting in the citys germantown neighborhood. Officers found the victim in the parking lot of an abandoned supermarket at wayne and west cheleten avenues. Police took him to einstein hospital where he died. Witnesses say there was a fight between two or three people before shots were fired. A gunman opens fire on an arizona highway. Right now the highway in scottsdale is shut down in both directions as Police Search for the shooter. Officials tell us the gunman hit two cars, the driver of one car was grazed by a bullet. A violent night after a donald trump rally in albuquerque, new mexico. Antitrump protesters were throwing rocks and bottles at Police Officers, some of those officers were hurt. Nbc 10s matt delucia has more on the violent protests in the digital operations center. Albuquerque police say that several officers are being treated for injuries after being hit by rocks and theres been several arrests this is what it looked like last night in the streets of albuquerque. Protesters started burning pro trump flags and signs. They also started throwing bottles and garbage outside the venue. This was all happening after trump was finished speaking. Police used smoke canisters against the crowds. Some kicked the canisters back at police, and what appeared to be pepper spray was also used. Donald trump on twitter made no mention of the protests, only saying it was a great rally and an amazing crowd. The scene was reminiscent of Trump Supporters and protesters in chicago. Trump suspeeconds is expected t california today. Donald trump is trading attack lines with democrat Hillary Clinton. Clintons campaign will continue to take aim at trumps record of rooting for the Housing Market to crash as a way to make money. In 2006 trump said he hoped to go in and buy like crazy when the real estate and Housing Markets collapsed. At yesterdays rally in new mexico trump responded to clintons attack. Today we are learning more about a man mowed down at a bus stop in philadelphia. Alejo molina was waiting for a bus monday night when a car crashed into a septa shelter and the driver took off. Police say that the impact of the crash immediately killed the 50yearold father. The driver turned himself in to police afteight hours after the crash. Molina leaves behind his wife and two children. Police are calling it a tragic accident. A septa train hit and killed a tourist at 13th street station. The 55yearold man had just visited the liberty bell with his wife. He leaned over to see if a train was coming and fell into the tracks. His wife was taken to the hospital for shock. Today lawmakers on capitol hill will grid the head of the Transportation Safety commission on how to cut down on lines at americas airports. The House Homeland Committee will hear from Peter Neffinger this morning. Lawmakers want to know why he chose to reassign but not fire the tsa administrator in charge of security and why that official received big bonuses while security wait times were not improving. Congress has set a limit on how much Public Housing employees can make. But the nbc 10 investigators found Philadelphia Housing Authority executives are making over that limit. No threat of showers or clouds from that one for today. The forecast for today, a quick warmup. Blowing past the 70s, and warming to near 90 this afternoon. Glassboro in the upper 80s. A bit cooler along the coast. On the beach, 74 for avalon. Coming inland for galloway and atlantic city, the 80s and 80s for delaware. Sunny skies, a scental breeze for dover and wilmington, 86 degrees this afternoon. Was ho no sign of showers for today. As we head into the weekend, well move past the 80s for most of the area. Saturday into the 90s. The exception is the shore, which will be in the upper 70s. Cooler sunday. Now we have to get this car out of the Center Median. We are blocking the left shoulder, left lane. One lane getting by eastbound on 422 around oaks. Well see some delay for sure. Emergency crews have to get that vehicle out of the Center Median. Theyre blocking the left lane. Only the right lane is getting by headed eastbound. Now big delays. Speeds into the 20s now. This is what it normally looks like heading westbound. Sevenminute trip there. So were seeing big delays headed eastbound if youre approaching the schuylkill. Watch lower merion on belmont avenue between route 1 and monument road. Route 38 around cuthbert problems, no big problems or delays, just a tough time seeing some of the spots facing the su sun. Police in a south Jersey Community are urging people to be on the lookout for thieves targeting the elderly. Police say three women preyed on an older couple who live on pump branch road in winslow township. They talked their way inside the home by making up a story that they cared for the couple during a recent medical appointment. The women were driving a white van with florida tags. We heard this before where theres two or more people going into a house and while theyre distracted, somebody else is going through the house. Police dont think anything was stolen but they say dont take chances. If someone suspicious knocks on your door, dont let them in and call police right away. Good morning. Were cool. Right now in the 50s after starting off in the 60 rs. Sunshine, it will be bright sunshine to warm us into the 80s. South jersey 51 degrees. Delaware in the 50s. Lehigh valley is cool. There are some cool spots in philadelphia. Society hill, 61. 62 in fox chase. Somerton, 53. A andora, a 54. A cool start. Satellite and radar, nothing to see. Showers and clouds have finally moved out. Got your weekend forecast when i come back. Right now jesse gary with your first alert traffic. Watching 422, a caroled over into the center embankment here. We have Police Officers on scene. Rescue crews trying to get the vehicle out from the center embankment. Headed eastbound we have lanes blocked there. 29minute drive time around oaks. So headed eastbound on 422 to the schuylkill expressway, 29 minutes. Average speeds into the teens. Also an accident in lower merion, belmont avenue headed southbound between route 1 and monument wrote. The schuylkill expressway looks okay. Seeing typical slowdowns with it just being after 6 30. 16 minutes or 17 minutes at the most westbound from the vine street to the blue route, speeds 50 into the 40s. We have breaking news. Police are still in germantown now, about three hours after a man was shot and killed. Its near an old pathmark parking lot. Pam is live there this morning. What do we know . Theres a dark colored vehicle in the burger king parking lot. That somehow is connected to todays shooting. Police will be towing that away from the scene. But heres what happened. Witnesses told police that the 25yearold victim was in an altercation with at least one or two other men in this parking lot before the shots were fired. The victim was shot in the chest. Police tell us he had two graze wounds to his head. He was taken to einstein before being pronounced dead. Investigators say at least 11 shots were fired from two separate guns. The 25yearold victim had a gun. Police had not recovered it yet. When officers arrived two people were still on the scene. A witness identified one of those two individuals as having been involved in the fight. Police believe one of those two may be the shooter. There is a crime watching camera in the area, and Police Believe one of their shooters may have been captured on video. Thats part of the investigation Going Forward today as well as this vehicle which they have yet to tow away from that burger king parking lot. Im pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. A judge in Montgomery County has ordered bill cosby to stand trial in a Sexual Assault case. Cosby is accused of drugging and violating Andrea Constand who worked for temple university. The defense contends it was a consensual sexual relationship. The prosecution says cosby gave her drugs that effectively paralyzed her and left her unable to consent. Families in bucks and montgomery counties get another chance today to voice concerns about their drinking water. Navy and environmental officials will host another meeting today in horsham. The first one was last night where they updated residents about the contaminated water from two closed military bases in horsham. People are worried about chemicals from Firefighting Foam found in their drinking water. Many are worried about the contaminated water and their illnesses. I lost both kidneys, i had four abdominal aneurysms. We believed it came from the water. I was told we need to get our blood tested for heavy metal toxicity. Horshams township manager says tests show contaminants are within the safe limits. He says a town hall meeting with the centers for Disease Control is in the works, but theres no date just yet. The navy says it is doing regular testing of private and public Water Supplies in the area. Happening today, septa will announce an unexpected partnership. They are teaming up with uber. Septa Officials Say they will reveal information about a summer pilot program, the goal of which is is to increase access to and from select Regional Rail stations in the suburbs. Theres been a push for high quality Early Education in many cities across the nation. The William Penn Foundation is hosting the conference. Today marks two months and counting until the start of the Democratic National convention here in philadelphia. With the democratic race still not over, the party is struggling to unite. Organizers are preparing for protests. Convention planners will set up a designated area close to the Wells Fargo Center where demonstrators can be seen and heard by the delegates going in and out. The convention ceo told me she wants everyone to express their views, and she said shes sympathetic to protesters because shes been one herself in the past. Ive been part of many protests in my life. Not always at the democratic convention, but i grew up in an activist home and household, so i know a little bit about marches and stateins, rallies, sign making. The city has given permission for Bernie Sanders supporters to hold a fourday rally in fdr park adjacent to the sports complex. The city issued a permit for an antifracking group to stage a march from city hall to independence mall. That will happen the day before the convention. Philadelphia is launching the busy summer tourism season with a campaign that redefines the citys historic district. Theyre even renaming the old City Historic area as philadelphias original city. It spans from the Delaware River to 7th street, from lombard street north to vine. The aim is to get visitors to see not only the Historic Sites but other attractions throughout the area and extend their stay in philadelphia. All of this means america, in addition to the bell and the hall. As we like to say theres more to a legendary city than its legends. So spend more time with us and see for yourself. The city will unveil the new campaign and the maps that go with it later this morning. A Gloucester County woman says after her house caught fire, a contractor she hired to fix it disappeared. We couldnt find him. Nbc 10 responds reporter Harry Hairston talks to a woman who tried for almost nine months to get her home repaired. Thats my life. Reporter this is the only home mary meade has ever known. She almost lost a lifetime worth of memories when their laundry room caught fire last february. I wont to open the door, the thing blew. The next thing you know, it was all black inside. Man. Theres just a shell here. Reporter meades son jim showed the inside of his mothers home. They say they paid contractor Jon Jay Mccabe 22,000 to make repairs, but he didnt finish the job. He called her up and said im not doing it. He gave your money back, right . No. Jim said that was back in october. He disappeared. Reporter so they contacted nbc 10 responds. When we asked the state of new jersey about mccabe, they told us mccabe is not licensed. We found mccabes south jersey office. No one answered the door, but we did reach him by phone. Mccabe acknowledged he owes the needs 18,000 for work he didnt do. He promised to explain why on camera at his office. You scheduled a meeting with me today at 9 00. He didnt show up, saying he changed his mind. The state says you are not authorize fd to do construction work in the state of new jersey. After that conversation he returned 10,000 by cashiers check. But that would be too little too late. Shell never see her home. Shell never see it done. Reporter marry meade passed away before getting the remaining 8,000 needed to finish her home. She said i dont have my home. Thats all i wanted was my home to go back to. The family tells us that marry planned to throw a party once her house was down. They filed a complaint against mccabe with the new Jersey Department of protection and hope to collect the rest of the amount of money due to them. A Montgomery County mother says she was publicly shamed for nursing her son at the Spring Valley ymca. Kate haslam said during a gym class on monday a ymca employee asked her to leave. Shes like theres men in this class theyre uncomfortable with you nursing in here. Mom was sitting on a balance beam with her feet on another balance beam, thats what i was told. And was just asked to move because the kids in that class were ready to participate or wanted to participate on the slides. The ymca president and ceo said it was a misunderstanding. The Spring Valley ymca issued an apology saying all mothers should feel comfortable Breast Feeding anywhere. In pennsylvania it is illegal to ask a nursing mother to move. The challenge is part of a series of viral videos where uniformed officers let loose and theyre designed to boost police recruiting. Cincinnatis Police Department already accepted the challenge.
