Keep an eye on the sky. There will be a few showers, but well also see breaks of sunshine. 50 degrees at 8 00 down to 49 at 11 00. The winds become more aggressive. Now, we just saw some live video from skyforce 10 atop the scene a few minutes aelg. Really, really deep flooding and a lot of individuals that are deep vehicles before they put the closures in place. You do not want to drive through flooded waters. If you do see anything, you want to find an alternate route. There is a set of traffic lights out on the roosevelt boulevard. Be prepared to watch out for Police Activity on the scene. Heres 422, you can see we have a disashled vehicle. This morning were getting a better view of some of the storms damage from the air. Nbc 10s matt delucia live from the air. Its still dark out but still how much can you see . We have some areas where we saw the flooding. We saw some of the flooding there on the street. Earlier this morning i was over in West Norriton and the areas by schuylkill. Some of those spots are flooding as well. Theres not a whole lot of daylight. It is a little bit difficult. If youre heading out on the roadways, its not a good idea to drive through any of the floodwaters especially as crews try to clear some of the damage and clear some of the storm drains and clear some of the water out of the way. Were heading throughout the area. County by county to show you what happened during the storm last night. As you all know, it was pretty powerful. Right now were heading toward salisbury and Lehigh County where there was damage. Right now as we head through skyforce 10, were going to continue to give you updates trout hour. You can see there are a couple of lines wrapped underneath and the Power Company hasnt even gotten out there so far this morning to take a look at this spot. Were in cherry hill. This isnt the only area that got hit. We have video of trees and things that have come down. If you were outside during that, you could feel the intensity of the wind. Thats why people tell us theyre not at all surprised about the damage that theyre sitting. I was sitting in it and the truck was just rattling back and forth as i was sitting there. The ground is so soaks. You can hear as you walk along here how wet and soggy it is. That might have something to do with how easily the trees get uprooted and come right down. When they do, it causes Power Outages and problems as well. Were going to be checking in and bring you an update again in 30 minutes. From Camden County we go to this road. You can see a couple of inches on the road right there. And this is the wind blown rain coming down in Lehigh County. You can see sheets of rain in treks ler town and tries swayed in that strong wind that accompanied the heavy rain. The storm also left its mark in Lancaster County. Yeah. This morning the people there have a mess to clean up. Winds also brought down medal siding and scattered debris hundreds of yards. Families told us they took cover in their basementnd and when they stepped outside, they were surprised to see the packet of destruction. Pretty bad. Theres damage around the area. Its sad because its our neighborhood. We dnld think it would be that bad. It damaged nine farms and two schools. Its 6 07. Weather has affected flights at philly international. Were over the area of west chester, a little bit north of west chester heading toward 202 you might see in the distance, also 322. Take look at the video of the flooding we did find in the past 30, 45 minutes. Lincoln drive, we saw quite a bit of street flooding there. We saw some of those cars that were trying to make it through there. Very dangerous situation as we wait for floodwaters to reseed. Were going to continue flying. Heading toward salisbury township. Matt delucia, nnbc 10 news. Its 6 15. Yesterday Governor Tom Wolf say hes balling cancer. Its very treatable its reasonable to know that this will be dealt with. Governor wolf said hell start his treatment in the coming weeks. He did not elaborate on the type of treatment but he did say there will be no chemotherapy. More than two dozen cadets left the ka data with a possible cheating scandal. 29 are gone. Police are not saying much about the gg including what kind of cheating they suspect. Internal affairs began in december. Newark police are cracking down on distracting driving and other offenses on the road. A new initiative means officers are cracking down on texters, speeders, swervers, and anyone else breaking the law. They document want to charge fines. They just want them to pay attention. If we wanted to make money, number one, we wouldnt put out where were going to be. Every day on facebook we talk about where were going to be. Its not rev newbased. Theyre just trying to see it going down. People damaged their casss when they hit a pothole. They couldnt see it because of water. One person was slightly injured. Its being blocked createsing quite a dangerous situation as cars approach this scene. You can see awe cars are approaching that and having to merge onto other lanes twochl lanes getting by. Already a 24minute drive time to the vine street expressway. Speeds starting to slow down there. Traffic lights out southbound and northbound between sunrise and whittingham and flood updates in new jersey. One area doing poorly around the 295 and brook lawn. Nbc 10 around the w wissahickon creek. Four people died in virginia. The governor there has declared a state of emergency. A suspected tornado tore through waverly, virginia, an hour west of norfolk. Two adults and a 2yearold boy died when winds destroyed their mobile home. Police found another man dead inside his damaged home and strong winds may have caused a tractor trailer to flip on its side. The overturned tractor trailer led to barackbackups for more than an hour. There was a ban in place because of 50mileanhour winds. Thats not the only spot thats getting rain this morning. This is an area thats already under Flood Warnings. Not a heavy rain fall. Its coming down at. 001. 0015. Theres gusty winds blowing those through the area. Winds at 20 miles an hour. Trenton, the same story. Those gusty winds will be ramping up this afternoon. Clouds and scattered showers this morning and even more likely well see more in the afternoon hours. Look at the temperatures holding. We start to see the delays headed southbound into center city, plus that accident scene, we probably wont recover for quite some time because were seeing delays. Northbound doing a little bit better. Dealing with a set of traffic lights that are out and malfunctioning, so be prepared to run into Police Activity. Reports of flooding on 130. On 295 around brook lawn circle and around 122. You may have heard this in your bedroom last night if you were inside. This was a violent storm. Listen to what people describe they heard during the height of it. Windows were rattling and theres a lot of trees over there, so i thought it could have happened to that building also. I was a little bit nervous. Its kind of a scary thing that you dont think it could happen to you. Everyone was okay. No one was in the building. R and right here these people are fortunate because the tree did not fall on their home. It went the other way. Unfortunately its in the street. It means the company will have to come out with a chainsaw and try to untangle all the wires so people can get to work this morning. We know the Power Outages are dropping by the hour. So right now as we look to get more daylight, weve not seen too much in the way of flooding on streets. Especially the ones that are far off from the rivers, but those areas by the rivers, the creeks, the screens, those roadways where we have seen minor flooding as a result of this, some of the creeks and screens, its exceeded that at a certain point. They had to pump out all this watter and clean up this mess. Good luck to them. This also took down power lines. A family managed to get out after this this car got stuck. It was in pottstown noekt a swollen creek. The man said his car engine died as the water continued to rise to knee level and it brought his 1yearold daughter who was in the car to tears. It was pretty bad. I called the ambulance before anything else happened. Crews diverted people around the area to prevent anyone else from getting stuck. Check out this timelapsed video. Trees down, flooded roads, a lot of damage from last nights storms. Yeah. We sent nbc 10s matt delucia over 130 in brooklawn, Camden County. What are you seeing there, matt . Reporter vai and tracy, this is an area that always floods. Theyre trying to make their way through the remaining flood water. It had been closed, the circle by 130, new broadway. This area had been shut down. Just reopened within the past couple of minutes. We saw a worker a few minutes ago clear that storm andre you see out there in the distance and that did help to get some of those floodwaters to start receding and then we started to see some of the vehicles mao through here. Still you have this kind of situation in many areas, especially here in south jersey wrrks you have to be careful making your way through the floodwaters. Again, if it does look too deep or you dont know what the conditions are, its best to turn around. We havent seen too much. It just reopened. Were going to keep a live look on the conditions. We talked with penndot about the dangers of trying to drive through the flooded areas like we saw earlier this morning on lincoln drive. All it takes is 6 inches of water to cause you to loose control of your car. If you see water, turn around and avoid it. We have more for you. Just open the nbc 10 app. Happening today in pittsburgh judge Michael Eakin facing a scandal. He could be removed from the bench if he violated conduct rules over inappropriate emails. Eakins lawyer called the hearing a major step in the case. Its 6 48 and 54 degrees. A Camden County church will hold a forum after someone stole their black lives matter signs twice in two weeks. Vandalists whipped down the sign. The goal was the prompt discussion. Organizers say todays discussion will discuss the current climate race in america. Its open to the public. A pennsylvania judge says Comedian Bill Cosby has no right to a criminal appeal in the sex assault case against him. Cosby wants the case thrown out because he had a deal with former District Attorney bruce castor that he would never be prosecuted. The judge ruled earlier this month no such deal exists. Cosby is accused of drugging and molesting a Student University employee in 2004. Theyll decide if they hear the appeal. The judge said cosby can file a postjury trial if convicted. Previous efforts to lower the drinking age have not gotten very fair partly because the state would lose federal money. A law calls for cutting highway funding for states that reduce the drinking age below 21. Ten minutes before 7 00. The 42 freeway starting to see big delays right here. On the northbound side you can see were at a standstill headed northbound right around the northbound side so you can see the drive time is starting to climb up there and pretty much what weve seen the worst of this morning for the window spots wchl very ponding over into the center medial.
