Developing this morning, crews will be back out searching for two teens missing in the ocean off the jersey shore. Overnight, we have learned its being called a recovery effort. Katy zachry joins us from where the teens were last seen swimming off Martin Luther king boulevard. Any word what happened to them . Reporter at this time, officially no. Witnesses described seeing the teenagers in the water and then going under. We were here throughout the night for the search effort. Were told by witnesses that the currents were extremely strong. Family of the two missing swimmers stood on the beach distraught. Some were unable to stand. They watched as crews searched the water from above. The teenagers were seen in the water off of Martin Luther king beach. It was around 6 30 when they went under. Within minutes, rescuers were in the water but never caught sight of them. The search continued until well after dark. People who watched tell us the currents were strong. The currents pull you in. And youre stuck. Its just tragic, scary. Reporter so far there has been activity on the beach behind us. This is the area where the two teenagers were last seen and the search was underway. Ive reached out to the coast guard. One of the agencies involved, as well as the Atlantic City beach patrol to find out details about when the recovery effort will resume this morning. Sunrise around 5 30.
