Happening now, a water main break has shut down a part of 3rd street in old city. Crews are blocking 3rd between walnut and chestnut. Crews are out right now working to repair the problem. Police walked him from this cvs where he was hiding in an upstairs storage room outside to their patrol car that was waiting. This all began around 9 45 last night. A man dressed in black and holding a gun walked into this cvs store on east Baltimore Pike and told the two employees inside it was a robbery. No customers were in the store. Someone inside managed to call 911 and Police Arrived just in time to come face to face with the suspect as he was leaving the store through the front door. So he turned back around, ran upstairs to a storage room to hide. The s. W. A. T. Team was called out. They spent the next couple of hours trying to negotiate with the suspect. At one point they sent in a robot and soon after that the suspect surrendered. The police chief from here in media was out at the scene for the entire time. He had his own thoughts how his investigators handled things once they were outside trying to communicate with the suspect and youll hear his thoughts coming up at 6 00.
