New this morning, Philadelphia Police arrested a man for allegedly driving drunk after his pickup truck crashed into a Police Patrol car in cobbs creek injured the officer inside. It happened at cobbs creek and christian street. Medics took the officer to the hospital. Now, that officer was working the crime scene where police shot and killed a man accused of stabbing multiple people. Nbc10s apamela osborne is live outside of police headquarters. One of the victims is the suspects son . Reporter thats right, were talking an 8yearold boy. And police say he was just one of several people that father injured during that rampage last night. Police were initially called to respond to shots fired. When they got to the scene, they saw knives. According to police, a suspect a man in his 30s assaulted his 15yearold daughter there. Afterwards, he began stabbing his 8yearold son. The child also had his throat cut. That father then went after a 13yearold family friend. Were told that both children had been stabbed several times in the chest. Theyre in Critical Condition right now. The attack continued. The suspect weather to a Family Friends home near cobbs creek and webster asking for something to eat. Police say once inside, he slashed a 70yearold woman in the face. He also punched a 42yearold woman. Police confronted the suspect outside of that home. Police say he refused commands by refusing to remove his hands from his pockets. And when he moved he was shot by officers. The suspect died from injuries. A woman tells us her son played with the 8yearold victim who is now fighting for his life. All i hear is pop, pop, pop, pop. We do know that that suspects own 15yearold daughter told police she believes her father may have been on drugs at the time he admitted these alleged acts.
