We just had our cameras focused on the vine street expressway on ramp, which is right down in here, just removed all of the construction that was blocking off the road,c closing the vin street expressway east and westbound. So it looks like were good to go there. Well have no problems on the schuylkill right now. No backups or delays on the vine. Watch for construction crews possibly still in the area. Out in plymouth, an accident on sandy hill road and plymouth road. Route 202 looks great. In the greene here. 11 minutes southbound from the schuylkill to route 30. Speeds into the 60s. Were learning more about the charges against a man involved in the explosions in new york and north jersey. Nbc 10s Pamela Osborne is live in the Digital Operations Center this morning. Pam, shed some light on those charges. Authorities have charged rahami with attempting to use weapons of mass destruction. A spokesperson for the u. S. Attorney in manhattan tells us that rahami will first face charges in federal court in manhattan. Investigators say ahmad rahami is seen on Surveillance Video near the explosion on 23rd street 37 minutes before the bomb went off. On saturday, 31 people were hurt. Rahami is captured a second time on surveillance walking near the spot on 27th street in new york city where another bomb was placed. Investigators say rahami was also behind a bomb planted near a race route at seaside park in new jersey. His fingerprints were found on multiple bombs, including a billion found near a train station in elizabeth. He travelled to pakistan and afghanistan in 2013 and 2014. When he returned to the u. S. In 2014, he was required to go through a secondary screening because he had visited an area associated with terrorist activity. When he returned home in august of 2014 he was involved in a domestic dispute. Witnesses told police that rahamis own father called him a terrorist. Police followed up with rahamis father who told him he yelled that out of anger. And the fbi did look into it but they did not find any ties to terrorism. Rahami is also charged with attempted murder of police. No word on when he will be moved from new jersey to new york to answer to those bomb charges. As pam just told us, rahami is also linked to the seaside park blast last week and saturday a bomb blew apart a trash can minutes before marine corps military run. This morning, the fbi is continuing its investigation. Nbc 10 learned that the fbi removed recording equipment from surveillance cameras near the bombing site on ocean avenue. Organizers have called off a race for respect scheduled for this saturday. Security is primary. Primary. It always is and its even more now. Local Officials Say theyre also trying to figure out what theyre going to do with trash cans during a large event and if they should be covered up.
