So the route 13 line for septa is now shuttle busing passengers because of a fire in the area. Thats between mt. Mariah and yeadon. c Everything Else on schedule. Heres the delaware memorial bridge, no problems in either direction, if youre headed into new jersey or delaware. Heres 95 once you get into delaware, no big problems there either. The drive times are still okay. 11 minutes at the most northbound from 295 to 495. Back in the next ten. Ill check in with the schuylkill expressway. Right now in montgomery county, police are investigating a double shooting at an apartment complex. This is in ambler. It happened at the forest Garden Apartments along forest avenue just before midnight. Thats where police have been investigating for the past several hours. Thats also where we find nbc 10s matt delucia. Hes live there this morning. Matt, a lot of questions still swirling around this one. Some neighbors actually heard the shooting take place. Right. There are a lot of neighbors who live in this complex here. Ill tell you, katy and pam, just within the past couple of hours weve seen a host of investigators come to the scene here to conduct their investigation. Ill step out of the way for a moment. You can see there are a couple of officers there, investigators standing by the doorway of this one building. It was just above there on the second floor, that is where this happened, the shooting happened, just before midnight. Take a look at some video here. There was a lot of activity inside that Apartment Building here on the 100 block of forest avenue. The two people were shot on second floor, no word yet on the condition of the victims. We have not and witnesses say they have not seen any of the victims be brought out of the building. But one of the neighbors told us she heard around five gunshots, just before midnight. We also saw police with canine units out here as well, looking through the woods and around the building here. At this point we have not heard anything about any arrests of any suspects but, of course, as you see here live again, investigators, they are still conducting that investigation. They tell us theyre hoping to get us more information as the morning progresses here. For now, live in ambler, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. The red cross is helping three people left homeless by a fire in southwest philadelphia. Nbc 10 was on the scene of allman street. The fire broke out around 2 00 this morning. Crews arrived in minutes to put it out. No one was hurt. A woman who lived there told nbc 10 no one was at home at the time the flames erupted. She believes its a case of arson. Investigators will be looking for the cause of that fire. Its 5 03 now. In gloucester county, investigators will be look for the cause of a fire that destroyed a lumberyard. Hundreds of firefighters battled the flames in Franklin Township that wiped out a familyowned business. The colucci lumberyard is now a total loss. With no hydrants in the area, fire crews brought in tanker trucks. Some of the water had to come from a nearby lake. 200 firefighters met even more of a challenge as they doused the flames. Firefighters were hampered by the hot weather. I already did my crying in the car. It happens. Three firefighters were treated for heatrelated illnesses. Its not known if the family will rebuild that business. Two former Temple UniversityPolice Officers are under arrest in the murder of a woman in germantown on friday. Aaron wright and Marquis Robinson face murder and aggravated Assault Charges in the death of wrights girlfriend. Wright resigned from the temp police force in 2002. Robinson was fired saturday after charges were filed against him. If you have a gun and children at home, you might have to change the way you store your gun. The Philadelphia City council wants you to keep it unloaded and stored in a locked container. This is if you have kids under the age of 18 living at the home with you. City council is trying to change the law. It cites an antigun Violence Organization saying about 265 children shot another person or themselves last year. Now to the latest on the ongoing septa slowdown today. A new policy could impact your commute if you rely on the regional rail. Riders will have to buy tickets before boarding at any of the stations in philadelphia between 3 00 and 6 30 in the afternoon. Septa said it made the move because of scheduling issues following the loss of more than 100 structurally deficient rail cars. Also today, the Naval Hospital parking lot on broad street in south philly will reopen for septa customers. Its been closed for more than a week because of the activities surrounding the dnc at the wells fargo center. Turning now to decision 2016. Today Republican Donald Trump will make his Second Campaign visit to pennsylvania since accepting his nomination for president. Trump will stump for votes at a high school in mechanicsburg, just outside of harrisburg. Last week he held a rally in scranton. Pennsylvania is a key bale ground state where analysts say trump can draw support from working class voters. House Speaker Paul Ryan is speaking out on the latest controversy surrounding donald trump. Thats right. In a written statement, ryan praised the sacrifice of the family of a muslimamerican soldier killed in iraq. Yesterday, trump defended himself against the criticism he got at the dnc from the parents of fallen army captain humayun khan. Theres a good chance well see more storms during the day today. Hour by hour forecast shows at 10 30 this morning. Pretty quiet. Nothing more than a few scattered light showers. As we go into the afternoon hours, were likely to see more storms develop. You can see in delaware and into southern delaware, also south jersey, a possibility of the storms late this afternoon. Thats not the only spot. Look at the Lehigh Valley. This is the rainsoaked area here. This could quickly turn to more areas of flooding. Flash flooding is a possibility. Flash flood watch is in effect for those areas. For today, clouds, sunshine, and into the 80s this afternoon for philadelphia, the suburbs, same story, low 80s this afternoon. The best chance of storms will be later this afternoon. Clouds will break for some sunshine but the steaminess will stay with us all day long. And the Lehigh Valley, 77 degrees, at noontime a chance of storms. The threat continues during the afternoon hours. For delaware, clouds and sunshine, low 80s at lunch time. 86 degrees at 4 00 and in between these hours, we could see spotty showers and thunderstorms for new jersey and the shore. Keep an umbrella handy. More showers and possibly strong thunderstorms, especially later today and even into this evening. Evening storms are possible with heavy rainfall taking advantage of all the moisture thats around. Were seeing that fog develop in the pocono mountains, visibility has been down as low as a quarter mile now. Half a mile visibility there. Not an issue for reading and pottstown. In between these locations, you can see fog. Northeast philadelphia is in good shape. Were seeing scattered fog in south jersey. Right now, millville and Atlantic City and delaware are looking just fine. As far as clouds are concerned and rain, thats a different story. Most of the area is dry right now. Weve been tracking this one thunderstorm as it makes its way towards the shore, it moves through atlantic, southern burlington and now is going strong in ocean county. Still lightning with that storm and heavy downpours as well. Rainfall is falling at a rate of almost 5 inches an hour. This one will move offshore and the threat of more storms, especially farther north and west could pose a flood risk for later today on those rainsoaked areas. Im talking about the pennsylvania suburbs, the Lehigh Valley and the poconos. This afternoon, through this evening, thats when well see more thunderstorms with heavy rain bringing a flash flood threat. And before those storms take shape, we are in for another steamy day today, for the entire area. In philadelphia, were starting off in the 70s with high humidity, though, climbing into the middle 80s. The temperatures but its going to feel like its in the low 90s when you combine the heat and humidity together. Another steamy day today. The steaminess will continue into tomorrow with a chance of showers for both days. Storms today, some scattered showers tomorrow. Cooler tomorrow, high of 83.
