One component of the system that will combine with a coastal lull thats going to form down to south. That lull is quickly going to chuck up the east coast as it makes its way to us. Tracking the major winter storm that will build over us. Were putting this into motion. Start spreading that snow through 3 00 a. M. Now with a almost our entire viewing area. Just brushing up against jersey shore. Instead of snow we see heavy rain. Starting 3 00 a. M. Heaviest snow. Continues heavy snow through around 9, 10 in the morning. Might see a changeover right along the 95 corridor to mix rain snow and heavy sleet. Which means driving conditions are going to be terrible across the region throughout the morning hours. The yellow and orange further south is heaviest rain. Lingers through lunchtime and scattered snow showers continue tuesday even into wednesday. The focus on the heaviest activity will be in the morning hours. The result of this is that we are expecting quite a few impacts, heavy snow, high winds, coastal flooding. Limited visibility. Parts of pa suburbs especially the northern edge. Continuing downright to about the i95 corridor. Looking at snow start time. 10 00 p. M. Through midnight. Thats the start time. Heaviest snow 4 00 a. M. Through around 2 in the afternoon. Accumulation 1520 inches for our total by the same time rather this is all the way out. Wednesday. By the way. Blowing and drifting snow expect instead Power Outages are a possibility. Philadelphia, northern delaware. And parts of south jersey also high impact. Snow starting 1011 at night. Heaviest 411 00 a. Right now tracking the threat as the system continues to start to develop soon enough and other system moving in from west to east. Going to impact us especially along the jersey shore. Title flooding for Atlantic City. Monday night. 9 15 p. M. We do expect some minor flooding possible. Now, tuesday morning, this is really the time of concern. 9 30 a. M. For Atlantic City. 9 49 a. M. For beach. Moderate flooding is likely however because we do have really strong easterlies and north easterly winds. Im going to time out hour by hour wind gusts for you. Youre going to see why we will certainly be affected with that onshore push of winds. Notice were seeing redding and 13 for philadelphia. Not until this system starts to develop later tonight through the overnight hours we start to see increase in wind gusts. This is going to be a huge problem. I certainly dont want to down play that. I want to focus all the emphasis on the snow. This is going to be a major impact. Especially for jersey shore. Tomorrow morning at 5 00 a. M. , we are seeing 41mileperhour wind gusts. I actually do think this is a little conservative. I would go with 45 to 50mileperhour wind gusts. And by tomorrow morning at 10 00 a. M. , we are seeing anywhere between 55 possibly 65mileperhour wind gusts. With that onshore plus. We have the potential for coastal flooding. Beach erosion is another big concern. Also had a blizzard warning issued in effect until tuesday 6 00 p. M. Ocean county and criteria include number one, winds in excess of 35mileperhour. We also have to contend with snow drifting and blowing for at least three hours and visibility less than a quarter of a mile. Well see you in just a bit with more updates. Its coming.
