Reporter vai and tracy, were actually expecting several businesses here at the italian market to be closed for the day without immigrants. To show how reliant we are on the workforce and if they were forced out by large scale enforcement. Organizations have asked businesses to close their doors to keep their workers away from their jobs and these efforts have struck a chord with Business Owners in the italian market and beyond. We stopped by chestnut street. We fully support a day without immigrants here. The owners, all of us, being hispanic, and seeing whats happening with not only the latino community, but all immigrants in general. I think its very important that, you know, the government understands that we are a labor force. To start to show, you know, how much we matter here. A woman is in the hospital after investigators say her boyfriend an Atlantic City Police Officer beat her. Clayton brown is suspended without pay. Another woman accused him of assault back in 2015 when this video surfaced. He was not charged and the woman settled the case out of court. Another Atlantic City Police Officer is under investigation after someone posted a video on social media. You can hear the officer. Im only going do this one of two days, you can be a gentleman, and i guarantee you [ bleep ] put your hand in my face and ill knock you to [ bleep ] do you understand me . Atlantic city police put the officer on administrative assignment. Internal affairs is reviewing the officers body cam footage as part of the investigation. Authorities have accused a day care worker in Montgomery County of sexually assaulting a 3yearold in a classroom while other children were sleeping. Authorities say at first he lied about what happened but then confessed to the crime. Police say it happened at the st. Francis Early Learning center in norristown. Sources say hes been working in the area since 2005. President trumps first 100 days saw another leader as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the white house. At a news conference, President Trump appeared to back away for decades of support for a twostate solution for the palestinians. With the wind, its going to field like 26 degrees. You see its going to feel colder right into the evening. Stand by for a windy one today. Bundle up right now, 34 degrees without the wind. And a 17mileperhour wind, steady at 17 miles an hour. And that will keep the temperatures in the 30s through this morning. Upper 30s with a few more clouds blowing through the afternoon. This is when we get the stronger winds in interior new jersey during the early afternoon hours. Gusts at 40 miles an hour. Possibly even higher. At the shore, 31 degrees right now. Well warm up to 37 degrees. Well see clouds and sunshine. Fast moving clouds that move through this afternoon and into the Late Afternoon hours will be increasing. In the past, many parks around the country start hiring workers around this time of year on anticipation of big crowds. Right now, hiring is on hold. Just days after President Trump signed the hiring freeze, the white house announced Seasonal Workers may be exempt. At this point, the park service is waiting to hear from washington. We are waiting to get the guidance that we need to start moving forward. Last year, more than 75,000 from different states visited the liberty bell and in this one square mile area. Today, ringling bros. Circus will have a show. The greatest show on earth announced will close in may because of a drop in attendance. Delaware is taking steps to protect transgender prison inmates. The new policy requires prison staff to weigh gender identity when considering inmates and how their stripsearched. It also refers to officers using preferred pronouns. Women who are incarcerated are getting a Second Chance thanks to a program run by mothers in charge. More than a dozen graduates called the program working for change. She said she ended up in jail for being in the wrong place with the wrong people. Now, shes made a complete change. The program helped with life skills and better decision making. They were able to give me the tools to believe in myself, you know, to push myself. To do the impossible. Nothing is impossible. Im possible. Mothers in charge hire some of the graduates, and they help others get jobs. A 71yearold philadelphia woman proved its never too late to achieve your goals. Nbc10 was at the ceremony of Charlotte Lucy burkett. She thanked the teachers and students who encouraged her all along the way. When i first started i thought, i cant do this. I cant do this.
