They intensify during the day and thats when well see heavy downpours as well. Meteorologist krystal klei is tracking the wet element of this. The storm and when the heavy rain will move in. The good news is right now its the winds that were combat r more than the rain. The even thing commute home will be a different story. Look at radar now. First alert radar. Satellite means we can see the clouds coverage thickening up as well. On your radar and satellite, what we are seeing currently is looking at light rain thats moving throughout the area. Right around currently parts of atlantic and ocean county. As well as burlington county. This area here is moderate. Drop further to south, what we are seeing is the next round will be heading our direction. Were going to track that out coming up in a few minutes. You can see that right in here. What this means is no matter what youre doing, youre going to have to add a lot of extra time to your morning commute. Its going to extend into the afternoon as well. Youll also need alternates. The bri you can take route 1 to Trenton Morrisville bridge. Take the burlington bristol bridge from route 14. Those are ways around that for now. Either way, plan extra time in your morning commute. All of those cars have to be redistricted in surroundings areas as well. This is approaching the ben franklin bridge. Roads look damp. Moving there camden right now, no problems or delays. 5 34. Wind, rain, and the possibility of flooding are all concerns along the shore. High tide has been hitting the back bays since the top of the hour. Ted greenberg is live along back bays in west wildwood, ted . Reporter rosemary and tracey, wind going to be the biggest part of this storm. See whats happening. The wind is blowing the bay basically over this wall. You can see just how rough it is. Its crashing over this bulk head and spilling here into the street. This is some of the minor tidal flooding we are seeing here at high tide along the coast, especially along the back bays. You can see its covering part of the street here. Take a look at video we shot earlier today where we started our morning right along the beach in North Wildwood and you can see just how big those waves are, how angry that ocean is, that is the result of the winds coming right off the ocean from the noreaster and slamming the water into the coastline and you can understand why we are expecting significant potentially beach erosion from this storm because of those waves. Again, the waves are coming here over the wall into the street other the sidewalk here in west wildwood. This is the first high tide we are seeing. Were likely going to see more minor tidal flooding during the afternoon high tide in about 11, 12 hours from now. That is the turnpike connector bridge. Roughly 42,000 vehicles go over this every day. Those folks are going to have to find another way. Turnpike officials in pennsylvania and new jersey say you should prepare for extreme delays and congestion. Saw the signs lit with detour works. This bridge has been closed since friday afternoon when a track was covered in a treuss. Drivers who take the bridge are bracing for what may come with this commute. Im leaving early. I always find alternate routes. I really dont think it would affect me. If i run into ill just find an alternate route. I would just suggest people dont drive. Take the train or bus. Problem is going to be the extra congestion on the other bridges that connect bucks county with burlington and mercer county.
